yep thats next if i cant find this new bios... just want to see for myself how good/loud the stock fan is at its propper settings...
heres a quick bench for ya...

    surface deformer....

hit over 303fps, 3870 crossfire would hit 289fps max... 2900 crossfire would hit 292fps max highly overclocked...
crossfire doesnt seem to have any effect on the score, though i had it enabled on all 3 sets of cards anyway....
redid the test with an extra 50mhz on the memory and reached over 310fps with a result of 17483.... 17502 @790core 1100mem

both m8, power play has the core at 500mhz, it should be lower. the memory is at 1000mhz... the fan is doing absolutely nothing to cool the card....... its very bad....

Do you by any chance have an old AMD heatsink? If you diced that up, that would do pretty well.

    GDDR5 w/out heatsinks though, I don't know....

i'm running a single 4870 until my second card arrives tomorrow. i run GRID at max settings @ 1680x1050 and average mid-90's fps. you might have to rename the game's executable to afr-friendlyd3d.exe if it doesn't have a CF profile yet. you also have to make sure you patch the game to 1.1 so the flicker goes away. not that you need CF in that game, but your framerate is lower than mine with a single card.
