No you told me it could be done but you didn't give me a walk through on how it was done. Posting a screen shot is hardly telling me how to flash the card .

do you guys know where these can be found in the us? Have they even gone on sale yet?
As Los Alamos director J. Robert Oppenheimer watched the demonstration, he later said that a line from the Hindu scripture the Bhagavad Gita came to mind:
"I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."
Test director Kenneth Bainbridge in turn said to Oppenheimer, "Now we are all sons of b**ches." wiki

Newegg has them for 334.99 plus a 30 rebate

I haven't really seen many reviews of this card. Asus sent me one a while back but i never got to using it. It's still wrapped in the box. I think I might use it in my shuttle

BIOS flashing ATi cards thru windows

Step 1-getting ahold of your BIOS
Get a copy of your BIOS off of your VGA card, you can do this using ATiWinflash available here

To do so get ATiWinflash running select "Save"

Then save the BIOS as something simple like cardname_stock or oc_BIOS.rom

    Step 2-Moding your BIOS
Now modify your BIOS thru RBE BIOS editor available here

Start by loading the image (load button is in the bottom left corner)

now you should have a screen like this:

notice how its has a checkmark in the box labeled pre-modified by RBE thats because i already modded this BIOS to 700/900 to do that select the "clock settings" tab

now if you want to improve your 3D clocks change the settings in the State 2 - mode 3 - "high 3D" column. Set this to your max stable clocks. Mine are currently 700/900 due to lack of power 2x3850s on a 500w Tt is a no go

if you want to adjust the volts and increase them for this card go to the voltages (still in the same column) now you want to set this to 1.327

    Step 3-saving your BIOS
Now to save you will simply have to select save in the bottom left corner

To name it i recommend something like cardname_OC_clock speeds-volts.rom

    Step 4-flashing your BIOS

To do this go back into AtiWinflash and select "load image"

select the BIOS you just modified, check to make sure the correct card is select and click program

once its done you will get this screen hit ok the click yes or no to restart

    Step 5-repeat

repeat for as many cards as you have

Ya know I threw this card into my backup rig (shuttle system) and it wasn't loud at all so maybe you just got a defective one.

I also contacted some of my friends at Anand, HardOcp and VR-Zone that got the card from asus also and they had no complaints about the fan noise either.

for me it was the fan engine noise. Also how could you possible fit a 10.5 inch card in a shuttle case?(not that I don't believe you) Even on the lowest setting it had a screeching buzz coming from the fan engines. It was driving me totally crazy and in a review I just read they said at neoseekers it was loud on the 3850x2 but not on the 3870x2. They were able to turn it down with smart doctor. I turned it down and it still had horrible engine noise. Also if you look on neweggs web sit the 3870x2 with that same fan has several complaints about how loud the fan is.

My bad i should've mentioned that I had to mess around and move a few things to get it to fit properly. I also cut the side panel up for the fans to get fresh air.

In regards to the loudness of the fans I guess it really comes down to everyone's POV on how loud is loud. I kinda have a high tolerance for fan noise so it can be just that.
