    [Project] Philip's TJ09

    Hi guys,

First ever post so I thought I'd make it a good one :d

Just going to start to rebuild my current water cooled pc "Pics Below" which currently consits of:

    Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1
    Western Digital 36 & 74GB Raptor
Western Digital 320GB Caviar SE, 3*500GB Caviar SE

I have a third EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra sat beside which has been wait for me to add to the system when the funds became available, which they now have :d

For my current water cooling loop I am using:

    Laing DDC 18w Pump
    EK-DDC X-TOP
    EK-Supreme CPU - Acetal
    EK-FC8800 8800 GTX - Acetal
    Feser One F1 Fluid
    3/8" Clearflex Hose
Alphacool NexXxoS Xtreme III Radiator (*1)
Alphacool NexXxoS Xtreme I Radiator (*2)

I have on order to add to the setup

A second Laing DDC 18w Pump
    A third EK-FC8800 8800 GTX - Acetal
    EK-DDC X-RES 100
    EK-Mosfet ASUS 3a - Acetal
    EK-NB S-MAX - Acetal
EK-SB Striker II Formula - Acetal
    Alphacool NexXxoS Xtreme I Radiator

    Update 15/05/08

Ok, Spent from 11am till 11pm yesterday taking apart my rig and starting to put it back to gether, here's what I have done so far.

Image of all the new parts on my desk :d

Ok, I carnt remember where, but on someones rebuild I had seen this done so took the idea and added in a SilverStoner FN121 Rotary Fan

Inside of case with Sharkoon Lights

    Keep watching for more updates!

    Update 16/05/08

Just now waiting a new SB block as there is a problem with the Striker II Formula SB and the top pcie slot been used. The barb sits to high and doesnt allow enough room for the card to slot in with the tubing on the barb

    All comments welcome!

having the res right after the pump will put a lot of stress on the pump.

Cheers, I've learn't alot since I set this up about three months ago.

I'm now changing to dual loops and changing the orders to

    " res, pump, 120.3, gpu1, gpu2, gpu3, physx "

    " res, pump, 120.1, 120.1, cpu, 120.1, ms, ms, nb, sb "

    Thanks for the advice though.

use the swiftech mcr series rad, or the xspc or the current king, thermochill for your rads. I heard that alphacool rads ain't that great compared to others similarly priced (exept for the TC).

I love that I am seeing more people trying to watercool the TJ09 lately, it makes me feel like I am NOT embarking on a useless attempt.

Nice loop, can't wait to see it expanded!

Looking good mate. Have you got any other shots of the bottom? The tubing on the 8800GTX looks pretty strained.

I like the look of that, but your flow is being killed by the pump going straight to the res.

i see you plan to change it, godd job

All the new kit should arrived today so will keep the updates coming as quickly as possible. will get some more photos of the old system online first before I dismantle it :d

Just want to thank Tom and the gang (if there is one) from Chilled PC for helping sort out a few problems with my order and getting it sent out as soon as it was possible

    Not much yet again

Want to thank Edyy for the new Striker SB Top. I've had to RMA my motherboard yet again due to it hanging at CPU INIT. I was on my 7th, Scan are collecting it tomorrow and so will receive my 8th, OMFG its doing my head in. If i hadn't just bought 4* 2GB sticks of DDR2 I would have gone for the Extreme version of my mobo by now

My last Striker Was posted to my on the 30/05/08 and its been RMa'd and collect on the 06/06/08. Something is beging to tell me this mobo is S**T...

    Oh well...

yeah, got the top, I can send through some picks but it wont be on the mobo? It does solve the prob (Its Hard Finding correct barb clamps that will fit though)

I realy need to think about this and need some advice. Should I break my bank and go for the Striker II Extreme and the Formula has now dropped £50 from what I paid (£200) and I can get the Extreme for an extra £40. would mean having to go DDR3. Again is it worth it? Any Recomendations if so?

If so would anybody be interested in the following:

    EK S-MAX - Acetel
    EK S2F - Acetel
4*2GB Crucial BalistiX Tracer - Black

Don't bother. It's not like the 790i are free from flaws too.

The problem is I beleive it isnt me. But can definatly see how it would look about me killing motherboards.

I've been building machines for years and NEVER! had to RMA a motherboard in my life going all the way back to 486 machines. But yeah theres allways the chance its me

Suppose any user is going to say this though. Just going to have to been evermore care full than I normaly am.

I've gone a bit OTT on the amount of board i think this one was my 4th so will be on 5 now. But still its way to many :|

Fealing a bit bettre this morning was just find of in a tance about my pc all last night. Cheers for the advice will keep the 780i :d

maybe a different piece of hardware is killing the boards or not working at all... have you tested with other boards?
