Any chance of closeups of the EP45-DS5?, so we can see the layout/chips better?

I'm confused by that DS5, 6 SATA ports (yellow) controlled by the Intel ICH10R, ok. Then we have 2 Silicon Image controllers, SiI5723...each chip controls 2 Purple ports....thus 10 in total.

So how the hell are they supporting IDE and the PCI bus?, the labeled "Gigabyte SATA II" chip is actually a rebranded Jmicron controller...but what chip is it?, JMB363 or JMB368?....if it's 368 then that acts as a PCI-E to IDE controller, which will give it IDE support.

So, how the hell are they getting PCI bus support?, i see no chips that function as this, unless this Jmicron chip is new and is acting as an IDE and PCI bus controller.

    OBR....give us some insight.

Something else i noticed, the solid capacitors no longer have the black plastic shrouder around them, they like support the capacitor on the PCB.

Hold on...do i see bios flash parts located close to the Silicon Image chips?, does that mean then that we/consumers can flash the bios/firmware on these chips as needed?

There are definately bios flash chips for the Silicon Image controllers....so we should be able to flash the firmware as and when new revisions become available.

The Power/Reset/Clr CMOS buttons are in a bad location, they should located higher up the PCB...next to the front panel header connectors.
