Thumbs up Group Buy - DFI X38 X48 P35 Mosfet Blocks - HeatKiller SW-16 or MIPS

UPDATE: ****ORDERED 8 SW-16 FROM VCORE.DK****

RECEIPT AND TRACKING NUMBER: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...3&postcount=91

Price: US$ 50,00 + Shipping will be less then US$ 25 for the full purchase ($5 each buyer).
The Mips would cost us a overwhelming US$75 +US$40 shipping!

Well I came across the same problem as many DFI P35, X38 and X48 users.
The DHL shipping from Germany to USA is too expensive for such a little product.
So how about we all unite here in US and make a group buy and divide the shipping costs?
Not many but a max of 5 users per order so it will be easier to keep track. Inputs are welcome.

The full price is $75 per MCH1149/MCH149 (Mosfet Freezer) so we will try to get a deal on that and split the shipping. We decided to get the Watercool HeatKiller SW-16 (fully compatible with X38, X48 and P35) because it costs around $46 + shipping and it's proven to be more effective then the Mips because it doesn't touch the CPL's.

MOST VOTED IS WATERCOOL HEATKILLER SW-16 Please see if you guys are still interested in getting that one instead of MIPS. I'm still in!

**** PARCIAL LIST FOR Watercool HK SW-16****

::::Waiting List::::

Prices

Well as for pricing we have this from MIPS so far

DFI LANparty P35 / X38 Mosfet Freezer - US$67

And the shipping can be divided by the number of buyers, if we get 5 different buyers it would cost US$6 for each one of us.

I will edit 1st post and create a list of the interested forumembers so far.

As soon as we get at least 5 people in I will send an email to MIPS owner and see what type of discounts he can offer, I will send CC to everyone that gives me their email in pvt so you can see our conversations, the last thing I want is to someone to get the ideia I'm in this for extra $2 bucks

I'd be in, what about the shipping from what I assume would be you. Is that $6 with 5 people, with or without the shipping from the person in the US who orders?

Talking Mips Mch 149

I managed to get MIPS MCH 149 for my DFI X38 and after over a month of usage I can share my opinion about it:
- it is hard to use it with QuadCore CPU and high Vcore voltages because this waterblock also covers 2 CPLs (next to PWM) and CPLs almost burn while under load. Then PWMs become not cooled but heated by waterblock Using my previous Q6700@3,6GHz/1,45Vcore after 15 minutes of 4xStressPrime load session (priority=10), PWM temps easily reached almost 70stC... waterheated
- after changing Q67600@3,6GHz to E8500@4GHz it is muuuuch better with temps - 47stC under Orthos load

Aha, I didn't use any AS5 or A.Ceramique on PWMs - just what left of PWM heatsink, maybe thats the clue...

You can always cut off this part of waterblock that covers CPLs as they can easily work with high temperatures with no danger - but they should not hinder cooling PWM

Thanks for sharing you thoughts on that Dimek.

How about we purchase the HeatKiller SW-16 from Watercool instead; costs almost half of the price of the Mips and seams more efficient taking Dimek's word:

It's compatible with our boards and does not have that extra surface touching the very heated CPL's.

What do you guys think?

So how exactly are we suppose to split the products though? Its not like DHL will do multiple drop points. I doubt people are going to agree on one person receiving the product and trusting that person to ship to each person

i'm in if it is for HeatKiller SW-16, MIPS it's too expensive.can you count me in??, it's so expensive if using direct shipment using DHL from germany for singgle item.
You can ship it to me using USPS First-Class Mail® International,i'll pay for it.
Thx

I don't mind shipping it and I'm sure nor do others. I trust the guys in here.
Hmm, that other waterblock looks awesome.
So its around $30-40? I think $67 is too much or the mips one.
I am shocked shipping is so much money. I just shipped 2 7800 waterblocks packaged together (2-3lbs) from chicago to australia for $24

I am running 3 loops and my 2 loops copper and the 3rd loop is all aluminum and at the moment it's just using 2 aluminum ramblocks, so I picked this up and will make a little aluminum or copper sink to mount this on over the mosfets.
$10, but not recommended for anyone who is using a copper radiator.
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20...or_501110.html

Or you can pick the copper alphacool version from moddersmart for $15
http://www.moddersmart.com/index.php...oduct_id=29994

Where can I pickup a thin piece of copper?

I could cut this koolance one down from 107mm to 83mm and drill a couple holes.

Jor3lBR your not exactly a very well known person on this forum. If you can have a person who is respected that will offer there services i would also go in on this.

I would take it instead of MIPS MCH 149 - I don't know how it looks inside, but it has no "CPL-part", thank God

Paypal Payment and others

First off I think thats the wrong attitude. I'm not doing this for any personal gain, on the contrary this only gives me work to do.

I will indeed take every precaution to make this a legal bond. We will use Paypal and I will create an ORDER # so the 5 guys on the list will send the money as a payment "for goods" with the description of "Group Purchase of Watercool HK SW16 Mosfet Block" and add this thread link on foot notes.

I'm a US Paypal Verified member (with real address and contact name) and eBay member with all 280+ positive feedback (100%).

I will report every email sent to Watercool, Invoice and tracking number here in this thread.

And just for you to know what you are saying is a CRIME that I would be doing! Taking money for something without the correspondent return is same as walking in a store and reach out for money on the register. Absurd thought as I have a wife, a job and a house to look after.

I wont do this for 100 people, I will only close the small group of 5 or 8 and thats it after that I'm done.

Everyone who want to go along with this deal please contact me in pvt and I will send my full contact information, including my ebay user name and ID in other respectable forums (DFI, DIY-street etc).

And again I take things very seriously and I'm not asking anyone to do this. I will sacrifice my time and money to do this and won't charge anything for it. As soon as shipping arrive I will send each one their blocks in USPS Priority Mail and charge EXACTLY what they charge me.

----

DECISION:

As for the block seams like the $46 HK SW-16 is our best choice. I am waiting on an answer from Watercool regarding the shipping to US.

Who still wants to go for that block and order?

Unhappy Back to step 1

Well guys unfortunately Watercool is not shipping to USA and does not accept Paypal.

Here's the email I received from them:
"Hello,

We ship the coolers only in EU, and we dont accept paypal.

Mit Besten Grüßen

Rico Weber

Watercool e.K.
Warendorfer Strasse 20
D-17192 Waren
TEL +49 03991 187601
FAX +49 03991 187602"

So as for now I will concentrate my efforts to contact UK stores that sell Watercool stuff to add the SW-16 to their stock and then we can purchase.

I will update the thread as soon as I get another response.

Jor3 i really applaud your effort, dont take it the wrong way. Im just worried because of the low post count and no display of heatware. I really want to help you and the forum in this so i may have a compromise and also an offer to make everyone happy.

How many of you guys are really interested in this and be honest?

Maybe if enough of us together do a prepay and a front preorder, a vendor might be willing to do the transaction with us. I have some connections with a few vendors on a personal level that might be willing to help us. This is all dependant on head count and really serious participants.

if this is the case Post your headcount here. Jor3 is this acceptable with you? All i would require is your contact at MIPS.

Well I'm a 280+ all positive 100% feedback history on eBay and member since 2003... I think that count for something.

I opened this thread because I saw many others on the same situation as I.

And please read the thread carefully we won't get MIPS equipment again. It's too expensive and less effective then Watercool HK SW-16.

So if you wanna get help for us try to find someone in UK that can order this directly from Watercool in Germany and then send it to US because they (Watercool) won't sell them to US nor accept Paypal.

EDIT: Regarding you help offer I'm up for it but that's only if they can buy the Watercool stuff for DFI, I know they sell the complete kit for our board just like MIPS (NB, SB, CPU and Mosfet blocks), like this:

LOL... Okey i already forwarded the thread to john,

Waiting his response. Maybe MIP's will deal with a vendor.

Okey wait you want me to ask him about the watercool products? I was more thinkn along the line of MIPS.

Reason why i think the vendor will help us is this:

1. First order he's not dumping too much money on stock since most of it is a preorder. Means less cost for him. We basically both win in this situation.

2. Having mips items, i can also ask john to stock up on the StrikerII Mips stuff. I know people on the forum have been whinning since its release on it.

3. We need a MIPS dealer in the US. Sorry NCIX, you guys only have 1 block from them so that doesnt count. :[

If he says he'll offer i'll introduce you to him and you guys can work out the contact information though email.

We still have petra's and ppc's to ask as well. :T

Ok thank you, I prefer to leave the dealing thing with the store owner I don't want nor have any interest in gaining anything from this.

If he decides to buy the kits and sell them individually in their store I'll buy them from his website like everyone else.

So far I have Watercool owner contact and 2 on line stores that sell those Watercool kits in Austria and France and also accept Paypal, but the funny thing is they don't have the newest additions to their stock (DFI stuff).

But I hardly doubt any US store owner will be interested in doing this for the same reason as NCIX:

"Hi Elano,

I'm very unlikely to carry that product in the near future. The cost of MIPS products is very high, so my focus will be on the ones that I'm sure will sell for now....

I know how many people can post in a forum that they want a product, but then when it actually comes out they do not buy it. For example, I thought the R600 chipset block from Danger Den would not sell well, but many on our forum requested it, then I brought one in and it's still in inventory to this day...

Regards,

Linus"

NaeKuh, any help you'd be able to provide would surely be appreciated. I for one give the offer a big , users helping users is the backbone of a community like XS and generous support like you're offering keeps me coming back.

Given Jor3's eBay feedback and his willingness to provide information about the specifics of handling the money/shipping in a public forum give him enough credibility for me to place enough trust in the venture. The handling of the payments and shipping is where our trust will be tested but with a vendor connection we may only need to pay the vendor directly and then coordinate a central shipping address to save on international freight.

The MOSFET area is the only part of these DFI boards that can't be watercooled with blocks available in the U.S....and this is Xtreme Systems. Let's make it happen!

I'm with Gogeta, everybody has blocks on SB, NB, CPU etc etc etc but non can easily get the Mosfet Blocks for DFI here in US.

Dunno why because it's the part of the board that heats the most

So the efforts would be simple and concentrated here:

- Watercool HeatKiller SW-16 29.99EU + tax and shipping

Nothing else.

Well just to throw my 2 cents in.... I'm interested and have the money, BUT need to know what's going on. Not trying to be rude but don't want you to think I'm not interested.. 29 yr ol' guy working on rigs for over 14 years now and now being a DBA consumes a lot of my life (aka time)... So if help is needed, drop me an e-mail overclocked8820@optonline.net

If we get something set in stone LMK via e-mail... So count me if we're able to get something going... Thank you for investing your time in trying to get this ball rolling my friend.
