    New motherboard, better spend some $$?

    Hi everyone.

    I have an e6300 here (L626 ) and it needs a MB. I want to spend as little as possible cash, but if it is worth, i dont mind spendin more. Im planing on going +500fsb with this CPU so it must have the p965 or the p35. Those are the boards that i have in mind. Of course, first, im looking a p35 board

    - IP35-E (80€ new)
    - Gigabyte EP35-DS3R (2nd hand -> 65€/ new 100€)
    - Asus P5K-SE (2nd hand -> 60€/ new 9X€)
    - Asus P5K-Premium wifi (2nd->105€/ new 145€)

    At first i was going to buy the 2nd hand DS3R for 65€, but then the seller said that it hasn't warranty so i didn't buy. Those gigabyte MB, die easily? If they die "easy", i won't buy it.

    OTOH, the IP35-E seems a very good option, but like the asus p5k-se, it has only 4 sata ports and i don't know if they oc as much as i want in FSB terms.
    I think, between abit and asus p5k-se, I'd get the Abit

    At last, the p5k premium price has fallen in this month, and it cost "only" 145€, but i think it may be a bit overkilling (is that the right word? xDD)

    Whats ur opinion?

    Thanks for reading and sorry for my english. Regards!!

    Hi

    The p5k-e costs here 127€ (only 18€ less than the p5k premium). I think if i step into this price range, I'd get the p5k premium for only 18€ more. Dont you think so?

    Regards!

    The p5k-e has 8-phase power regulators, versus the 4-phase (maybe 6-phase) regulators in the p5k premium. 8-phase regulators give much "cleaner" power to the CPU than 4-phase regulators.

    Thanks for the info NetburstXE

    And between these three

    - IP35-E (80€ new)
    - Gigabyte EP35-DS3R (2nd hand -> 65€/ new 100€)
    - Asus P5K-SE

    The Gigabyte normally does +500 fsb? Would you get the gigabyte for 65€ instead of the abit for 80€ new?

    Thanks

    Do not touch a P5K Premium. That is the single biggest POS motherboard I've ever owned and almost put me off ASUS for good.....

    all of those boards can get 500 fsb guaranteed.

    p5k premium and ds3r get higher fsb for quads than the other ones.
