The first one ( just like the P5K Deluxe & P5K3 Deluxe ) will have a SATA Ports issue with the new 8800GTS's 512MB, you'll have to sacrifice 2 SATA ports due to the "stupid" coolers' plastic casing.

The P5Q-D looks way better, and I wonder which LSI chip is on it

Almost every i/o parts and internal connectors are made generally by Foxconn, and Foxconn is largest motherboard manufacturer.
You'd have tough time finding some motherboard that has no foxconn parts. I believe, very tough.
As i see in your sig, you have Striker II Formula. That makes me think that you haven't assembled any PC by yourself, because your motherboard clearly states Foxconn on ethernet/usb connectors. Not to mention about internal connectors and slots.

I doesn't get pissy, because i'm service engineer, i have enough hardware, don't worry. Yorkfields, G92 and bunch of ddr3 isn't far away from my workdesk. Because thats in my office computer
If you're not paying attention to your hardware, funny thing how are you paying attention to unreleased hardware.

First, this is not stuff given, this is stuff required.
Second, i'm not "look at my flashy riggy w00t" guy, i have hardware bought by me lot better than yours, and i have not only one computer, so lets stop discussing this, ok?

P5Q-D has PCB layout of P5K-Dlx family, only i find very few differences between P5Q-D and P5K-Deluxe/P5K3-Deluxe that i have on my desk now. Not talking about stuff that is required by southbridge and extra PCI or releated to P45.

I thought P45 had native PCIe 2.0 x8 connectors so no need for a PCIe switch? I'm pretty certain one of the older Intel slides indicated this. Here's to hoping P45 will enable Socket T to go out with a BANG

wait, crap Are you really picking a fight on the Internet? You were clearly mis-informed in your original statement, then you dare say "And two, screw yourself buddy. Don't get pissy because I BUILT a better rig than you." Why? You just have an E8400 and a 780i but on top of that, attempting to call someone out for having seemingly lesser hardware. Next-time you unwrap a motherboard, take a look at the socket protector, Foxconn. They manufacturer EVERY one of those protectors. Don't have one because you only have one motherboard? I can mail you half a dozen. Just because you are remotely anonymous on the Internet doesn't mean you have to be a jerk.

Gomeler, there are some LGA protectors that are not built by foxconn. For example i have few Tyco that i'm looking at now. There are also ones used by ASRock that are not Foxconn transparent ones, but very weird shape ones without any manufacturer on them.

I stand corrected. All my Gigabyte and MSI protectors have been Foxconn and I've gone through quite a few. Thought I had read somewhere that Foxconn was contracted for all LGA775 protectors, must have been mis-informed. There I go for shooting off my mouth, but the point still stands

I made pics from few ones that i had lying.
Foxconn standard, Foxconn transparent, Tyco, and that weird noname one. Sticker on noname one is similar to Foxconn sticker, but i have no idea if this protector is made by Foxconn.

That far-right one is really weird. I've got a few of the far left, haven't seen a clear one in a long while.

This is specifications given by hkepc.

Go figure. Theoretically as the P45 is mainstream based chipset 8x/8x might sound right. Otherwise this chart stands that P45 will be DDR3 only, but both ASUS boards are DDR2 and other P45 ones i seen was with DDR2 also.

Maybe it is PCI-E 2.0 16x, but when Crossfired it splits to PCI-E 1.0 16x/16x
