9600gt Is Out

Well we've been waiting a long time for a refresh, and even if it's more of a recycling job with a different label, at least it's something. Enter 9600 hopefully to be followed by the next generation of proper new tech cards that can run Crysis.

Sad thing is, you know that cards this gen are probably going to be bad because they're releasing their mid-end cards first. It used to be that the $500 monsters were all you could buy if you wanted something new for at least 4-5 months before the x600s started coming out.

I would say yes.

Since this card SHOULD be much slower than a 8800GT because of the number of SP, but at the same clocks, it does fairly well.

Also this GPU is openGL 2.1, where as g92 is 2.0

SPs are the same but improved compression algoritm, this card can compile 8 texels per clock. ROPs are improved too, One SP has 15-20 percent gain over SP in G80/G92 GPUs.
