Foxconn Blackops X48: First quick results.
Hi all!
First I have to thank Shamino and Foxconn for porviding me the best possible parts to play with
I have had this board for a long time, but I didn't have D9GTR based DDR3 memory to play with. This motherboard had some problems running my previous sticks.
I tested yesterday ASUS P5E3 WS Pro with this same QX and LN2. Which board is better? Obviously Blackops! Bios is still on early stage, but it's starting to give good results.
All Pi/pifast times are totally unoptimised. I couldn't run 3DM06 3D tests because my 3870X2 wasn't in good "mood" today. Well, I have to retest everything later next week. LN2 dewar was almost empty when I started this morning. LN2 is so expensive here, that it is making these test sessions much harder. I have to be quick. 1L of LN2 = ~10€ in here. These all tests are done with maybe 6 liters of LN2. It's definitely not enough for getting familiar with this new mobo
Finally the screenies:
This is strong board. More tests will come when I fix the 3870X2 to work again. Maybe some tweaks for 2D tests wouldn't hurt either

Yes! Much fun indeed.
No pics this time sorry. My fiancee took my camera and she is away two weeks! (Yes!)
Now it is time to bench all night/day long.

Great CPU clockin! What voltage, whats the cold bug temp?
Good stuff, hope to see your X2 come back in good mood!
At that price i'd say its cheaper to get a cascade to do prelim tests then some ln2 to seal the deal in the long run

Thanks guys!
Voltages were 1.86V- 1.9V
Peter- My cascade will be repaired in month or two. Then benching will be much easier again. Cold bug was getting lower during session. First it was -115 (pot base temp, don't know real core temperature) and after a while it was getting down to -106 (pot base temp) On ASUS P5E3 this QX could do -125c (base temp), so it was my temp probe error or something else. No cold boot problems at all.
I hope to get this cpu running 5.6-5.7GHz 3DM06. It looks possible.
Eva2000- I'll do water only benches tomorrow.

good work man. these foxconn boards are starting to be very nice. might pick one up in the near future. LN2 around here is $10 a liter here in michigan. $20 for 10 liters. $44 for 20 liters i believe. does that sound like an ok price.

Thanks!
Damn! That price would solve all my OC problems permanently. Stupid AGA (the manufacturer/ seller) They are dominating our market and they can set the price they want.

Nice results SF3D, i hope than my Quatum Force application will be accepted
Yea LN2 prices sux in Finland if bought from AGA , according my friend LN2 is quite cheap if bought from rautaruukki but i don't know any further info about where, to who and how.
LN2 costs in sweden around 3,5€/litre, according Computerville =D

Great results 1st SF3D
I have tested this fantastic mobo in the past days and can tell that improved a lot, in terms of performance and stability, in the last days with new bios
Now with QX9650 Air Cooled can do easy 450Mhz FSB -1800 7-6-6-18 with rock solid stability
PCIe OC works now very good and CF with 2900XT and 3870 works very welll
Here is some photos the reflects Shamino sense of humor (he have a lot of sense humor, besides been one of the most talented OC'er I have meet).
Notice the comments in violet
Memory timmings control with latest bios
Using these new toys I received yesterday (thanks a lot Saaya )
I my humble opinion, the Foxconn BlackOps X48 have all the condition to be the best motherboard ever produced for overclockers.
The enveloping of great overclockers all around the globe in the latest phase of developement will help a lot to get a outstanding product ..
I will put this on the cascade this weekend and will post 3D results in the 3Dsection ..
I'm really excited how the performance in lobbys in My Favorite Game grow with these latest Bios
Great work Shamino and the rest of Foxconn X48 developing team
