Q6600 on Water Cooling!!! Temps are Insane!

he he he, after some more tinkering, look at my load temps!!! i think am just gonna run this 24/7 because the temps are so low, doesnt even break 50C with a voltage of 1.57 Volts. idle is 23C, Ambient is 21C...he he he am happy now. if the Q6600 dies from running 1.57V 24/7, then it an excuse to get the Q9550!!

Nice, whats ur speed? I get to 70C easily with 1,35V lol... even though I got the Apogee GTX
Some CPUs are just too hot to be cooled by water - that's why I'm getting a SS now

I see 1.57v reading on the CPU core in Everest. That means the Bios is set a wee bit higher.

What is your CPU's Voltage set to in the BIOS?

I am glad I found another member willing to go higher than I did, and CPU lived! I stopped at 1.55v BIOS. Your settings makes me think I could go higher if I wanted to...

So far With the Maximus and my Q6600 GO:
My CPU Voltage setting of 1.46250v (BIOS), will allow error free Priming with a FSB Frequency 414 giving me 3.7GHz with my 400 NB Strap.
My CPU Voltage setting of 1.506v (BIOS), will allow error free Priming with a FSB Frequency 424 giving me 3.81GHz with my 400 NB Strap.
My CPU Voltage setting of 1.51875v (BIOS), will allow error free Priming with a FSB Frequency 428 giving me 3.85GHz with my 400 NB Strap.
My CPU Voltage setting of 1.51875v (BIOS) starting taking errors 4 minutes into prime with a FSB Frequency 432 giving me 3.8888GHz with my 400 NB Strap.

I did successfully prime 3.9GHz with a FSB Frequency 435 for 45 minutes, but stopped the test.
For my system it requires me to set in the BIOS a CPU core voltage of 1.55000v's, and Everest reads 1.53v.
I also had to bump your CPU PLL to 1.60v's.
1.55 Core and only 1.56 PLL would not Prime 3.9GHz error free.

I think you have super temps, but I caution you, at only 20 minutes of prime, I believe they will still have some climbing yet to do.

I would like to see what your getting for temps at 4.0GHz, and 1 hour of Prime95 or God forbid 1.5 hours. That last 1/2 hour can add 5 more C to your Core temps I think...

Prime is a beast of a program, and no game will probably ever take your temps any higher than Prime does.

At 3.9GHz and 45 minutes of Prime, my high core was about 53C.

I loaded my 3.9GHz BIOS profile back in for a 20 some minute Prime95 run...

You inspired me, I think my temps are killer also.

    Current room temp was 59.8F

    Thanks...
BTW - I love the idea of a Q6600 Water Cooled thread!

My normal old every day 3.8GHz temps, 1 full hour into Prime95:

I am afraid of the CPU voltage...

    Is 1.56v or 1.57v really OK on a Q6600?

I promise last screen shot, but a bone stock 2.4GHz Q6600 for a sharp contrast, 40 min into Prime95!

Post some of your Q6600 temps up boys!

here ar my temps @ 4.2ghz. it appears that the limit of this CPU is 4.0ghz. no matter what i do it wont prime @ 4.2ghz, but i can play game and run prime 95. oh well.....temps are still low though, but vcore is suicide. backing back down to 3.6ghz for 24/7

While these temps and overclocks are all very good, is there any chance we can get pics of your setups.

Until we see the setups its difficult to guage what temps others might likely get.

i.e. do you have your mobos on a workbench in open air, or enclosed in case, or lots of high speed fans, out your back door or what?

    lol
