    P5E3 Deluxe & System won't boot?

    Hi there!
I've got a little problem with my mobo... it works pretty well except for the thing that, sometimes, it just won't boot!

I hear the noise of the fans and nothing else, the screen is black and no beep come from the mobo.

Shutting it down 1 or 2 times it "beeps" and after a pair of seconds of post, it gives the error:

Overclocking Failed! Press F1 to reconfigure your PC settings!

However, i have this problem even with everything @ default!
Is there some BIOS setting on wich i could blame this?
    Thank you =)

Press F1 ..go to bios and load F5 defaults > F10 saved...then again go step by step and set it up ...in every change you make then F10...beep.. and continue..the same style..
It makes me the same but she is stable after all...
When she beeps and doesnt load...reset it...and wait ...will bring you to this...Overclocking Failed! Press F1 to reconfigure your PC settings!..

Exactly... this isn't a "small" problem...
Sometimes, it just doesn't load and i have to reboot 4, 5 times...

Somebody told me this could depend from the RAM: i am using two 1800 Corsair modules, but i had to change my system fans and, waiting for the two new Noctua, i lowered the cpu to default and the RAM to 1333... but this sounds crazy to me
    What could we do?

    Thank you, really
However, it doesn't sounds good the mobo shows the same problem even with the "nominal" ram frequency... i hope this is just a little bios bug and it will be solved... a mobo that shows "Overclocking failed" even at default is so strange =)

Now i'm running the memory at 1800Mhz...
Strange to say, the problem didn't happen.

I mean, what's the problem with a mobo that claims "Overclock Failed!" on every boot with a system at default and doesn't say anything with the system overclocked?
Looks like it's just a RAM issue, those Corsair Dominator don't like to be downlocked (at least, i hope so)

Mine does the same, only I have Corsair ram in my sig, running bios 901, had a lot of problems with usb devices, so I had a usb 2.0 pci card laying around so I put in and now no problems at all, boots right up, stable no more dropped usb devices, really strange...

I have seen in a local forum power users talking about DDR3 and they said that there are some sticks which dont work in specks and they run fine overclocked...that was my case..since then they run only o/c.. and they run fine..

The funny thing if I leave everything default in bios my rig runs at 1600 fsb the cpu is running at 3.2 ghz, so the ram at default in bios sets fsb to 400 and cpu multiplier to 8 (I can only tell its 8 by cpuz because everything is on auto)....I thought I would have to enable xmp to get those settings or do it manually...

With the XMP you can choose between 2 profiles again at default..maybe with different timings..
Go manually better ..look the .txt file above (4th post) as an example..

The "2 profiles" are just a bluff
With 1001 bios the settings for every XMP profile is shown when selected...
...well, the second profile is shown as "Invalid profile"

However, system is just NOT stable when running XMP, my mobo first booted @450*8, then 450*11, then tried 450*31 (O__O) when using XMP, you REALLY have to tune it manually!

Question Is this a problem just with Corsair RAM?

    Hi all,

I am thinking of buying the pro version of this board. That is, the P5E3 WS Pro, as it has a PCI-X slot to run a separate dedicated RAID card.

I can hold out to approximately the end of March 2008. By then the X48 version may be out.

In OZ, the best value, but still not cheap, DDR3 RAM is G.Skill [AU$472.30] (1Gb x 2) DDR3-1600 (F3-12800CL7D-2GBHZ). I am thinking of using 2 of these sticks.

Has anyone got any good or bad experiences with G.Skill DDR3 RAM and ASUS motherboards?

Will I have the same issues as has been reported above.

    Thank you,

    David
