I spy an SLI connector on it...

Ha, I knew the 9800GX2 will have a new revision of the G92.

They must have received a board partner non-working sample

Different bin... not a silicon respin or anything special.
Most likely a special bin that runs a certain TDP at specific clockspeeds.

But I don't think its going to be clocked lower the the GT or GTS G92s, Unlike what other Xtreme members thought

They almost have to... but I guess we will just have to wait and see.
A 280w TDP isn't something easy to cool...

Nice. We need something better than the 3870 X2.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

Then what's with the wire-mod from the PCB to one of the traces? I think that card works/ed at one time. That cooling design is very nifty, wonder how hot those cores are going to get though.

Awful TIM application... good to see actual TIM on the RAM instead of pads though.

    well thats a combined TDP.

    8800Ultra is TDP 190W
    ATi 3870 is 135W
So I'm guessing that the 3870x2 will run hotter then this.

the 3870x2 cores are running at 775Mhz? So

I still think the 9800GX2 will be clocked higher then the GT or GTS.

yea, this a worse idea then the 7950gx2. Pretty much have to fab new blocks, and ln2 seems almost impossible for benching.

well, I think if K|ngp|n modded his LN2 pots, It would be easy.

Well, the length of the internal SLI connector would allow some spacers possibly, like those ones for the 7950GX2...

Yes, combined TDP since it is a single HS.

TDP was the wrong word to use... Peak consumption was what I should have said.
    Ultra ~170w, GTX ~160w, HD3870 ~110w, HD3870x2(825mhz) ~220w, G92GTS ~140w.

The 8800 ultra has a power consumption of around 190 watts. The 3870x2 is closer to 290.

Total system power consumption... My god, reading comprehension.
Did you even look/read the review or try to understand the chart?

So you say Ultra draws 190W. And on this link GTX draws 234. I would assume Ultra draws more than GTX?!

EDIT: or should I say system, since it's total system power consumption.

I trust W1zzard the most on power consumption.

So the HD3870X2 takes 51watt more then the 8800GTX. That's not bad for 2 GPU's.

Why is the title named nVidia 9800GX2? It's not dualGPU, so i guess this ain't an GX2 card.
