Talking Asus E8xxx support bioses Blitz Formula, P5K3 Deluxe, Commando, P5K Deluxe

Some new bioses out for official 45nm Wolfdale E8xxxx support

I'd be careful in flashing these and use bios EzFlash only. I haven't tested these yet, some folks report inability to downgrade after flashing, so probably wait for some feedback from those that have tried these cpus.

Results anyone? Retail units should be flowing all over the world today and tomorrow.

    I'll chime in with P5K-Deluxe on 705 and a E8400 batch 747 on Wednesday...

Where can I get a BIOS for my p5n32-e SLI plus? Been looking everywhere since last night. It boots but it's only running on a 6x multiplier instead of a 9 and it won't let me force 9.

Asus Blitz Formula 1205 vs 1402 bios

Just flashed my Asus Blitz Formula from 1205 to 1402 official bios http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...ula/BF1402.zip with E8500 already installed. Using in bios EzFlash and USB drive the flash was successful with no problems

Noticed to changes in bios from 1205 to 1402 bios.

    1. 400FSB Strap added to 1402 must be for QX9770
    2. CPU ratio no longer has AUTO and Manual selection - it's just one setting which you can select ratios for AUTO to 9.5x in N/2 increments while I have my E8500 installed. AFAIK, N/2 cpu multiplier support was added in 1302 bios and higher
    3. The memory timings section now shows what the auto values are set as horizontally across the screen - must of flowed on down from what I saw in Maximus board bioses
    4. Transaction Booster levels increased. 1205 bios enabled showed only level 0-1, while 1402 bios shows level selections between 0-3
    5. Command rate shows 1N/2N instead of 1T/2T now

I'll try it on my Commando. I've got nothing to lose anyway, the last bios update wouldn't let me past 420 FSB. It will be with an E6300 until I have a chance to get a E8500 though.

Mixed results so far on P5K... one guy had a good clock on Bios 603 (That BIOS was made in July ffs,) a negative one on 705 (me) and a negative one on 805 beta bios.

Eva or anyone, how do you roll back via EZflash? Rename the .rom?

Here are my two 705 bios settings, neither are 4Ghz stable at anything around 1.375 Vcore. My E8400 batch is 747A374 pack date 01/11/2008

    1st 705 settings (Ram in slots 2 and 4)

2nd 705 Bios setting (Ram in 1 and 3 slots)

Any thoughts? These are failing OCCT and Prime 25.3 in no more than 10 minutes, rest of specs in sig...

Why not try disabling transaction booster and set a relax level or giving those gskills 2.2 real volts ( I think it are the same HZ that I have the PC8000 4-4-4-5 ones ) secondly 1.375 VCore is what in reality on your board ? 1.35 and lower under load ? might be time to up there a bit ...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Thanks Leeghoofd.... I tried those and it didn't help too much

I think a Bios change and a pencil Vdroop mod is in order... my under load VDroop is .05 or so (even with voltage damper on)... kinda bad, much worse with this new chip and bios.

Ill try new bios (if I can even find beta 805, and I know theres some way to roll back, just can't remember) do the pencil mod, and try again...

.... I dont lack effort... thanks guys

603 was a much better Bios than 705 for me... The chip still sucks though lol

Anyone has tested P5K3 Deluxe with 1001?

I found several bugs on the BIOS and clocks like crap, Asus really needs to start doing better on BIOS.

the best working bios for me is the 404 version. to dowgrade from 705 or 809
    1. download and install Asus Update v6.10.02
    2. download the BIOS version 404, unzip and save it to C:\
    3. start Asus Update, go to Options and select 'BIOS downgradeable" and save
    4. choose "update BIOS from file" and point to the BIOS file that you downloaded
    5. after it finishes, reboot and MAKE SURE that you clear the CMOS!!
(if you dont do this you'll have problems on POST)

Hey everyone. Hopefully someone still looks at this thread. I just got the Blitz Formula SE. I had done some previous research on it and had found a basic guide to settings for the bios, but I cannot seem to find it. I thought it was Anandtech's site, but for the life of me I cannot locate it. Any ideas? I have an idea of most of the settings in MB's bios' but this one has a lot. Anyway, just looking for some explanations for some of the setting and suggestions, for instance, what does the transaction booster do?

Anyway, any help would be great.

    Thanks,

    Utnorris
