    DualCore monster,INTEL E8500 Presskit review (45NM/6MB,L2,3.16Ghz)

Remebered since '06 conroe born, conroe rushed the world
the end of '06,Intel first released their Quadcore model,QX6700
for all those successly 65nm processors leading AMD.
end of 07,with high-k and metalgate technology,Intel bring us
    45nanometre, QX9650,large caches of 12mb shared,3G desktop and quadcore
for the mainstream dualcore, til jan of'08,E8000 family will coming
and forcely on overclock and lower temperature
upcoming intel taking good news for us,E8000 will release this week
and i will show you, what that crazy of E8500.

    thanks for intel,E8500 presskit,packed date,Nov.'07..lol
this box sits on intle warehouse too long.

    E8500 45nm, 3.16Ghz,9.5*333,L2 6MB shared
First over 3G desktop core model

TDP 65w,but for E8500 and 45nm,just need a small sink

the stockfan just like celerons',but more simple, and only allumin base

    delta 0.6a.

E8500 default on maximus extreme ,capture the vid is only 1.120v,compare to 65nm
its much lower, doesn't it?, caches, 45nm wolfdae has 24way for shared 6mb L2,65nm conroe
    are 16way and 4mb shared.

with default clock of 3.16Ghz,SUPER PI 1M 1.5sec faster than E6850 when OC 3172MHZ
    32M more faster.

    E8500 Default SUPER PI

    LOL...tell me,ur still using e6850 1.3v or X6800 1.4 running 3.6Gmhz clcok,
newer E8500 just needs default vid,1.120v and stable prime 3.6Gmhz
i love that low temperature. really impressived of intel's 45nm

    TESTRIG,
    AMBIENT TEMP,23°C
    INTEL E8500 45NM, 3.16G OC 3.6G, L2 6MB SHARED,
    TUNIQ TOWER 120
    ASUS MAXIUMUS EXTREME .X38
    ADATA DDR3 1900 1GBX2
    NVIDIA QUADDRO FX330
    HIGH POWER 1000W,
    PRIME LOADED,FULL SYSTEM 172W
    (measured by Seasonic Power Angel)

    E8500 oc 3600mhz 1.12v Priming, loaded 37°C

    1.256v 4Gmhz Prime,loaded only 43°C
very curious what AMD can do at 1.256V, for e6850 average should be 3.3 to 3.4Gmhz.

Pass priming sp2004,other testings will be very easy at this clock.

no problem with 500fsb and ddr3-2000

a monster chip for aircooling? 1.40v overclock 4.5Gmhz and passed SUPER PI 32M
the idle temp just 5 to 12°c higher than ambient temp.

would be interested if this 8500 works also in a good old 965 or 975 motherboard as most of them are capable of running 1333 already.

would you mind give it a try?

need telling to all mobo makers, they should fix the dividers for E8000
with high fsb, limits the dividers on x48 chipsets.

    orthos/prime stable at 4.5ghz +?

i really don't see quads becoming useful (at least for gaming) in the near future, a quad will only beat a 4.5ghz + dc in some benchmarks

I am thinking of thrashing my Q6600 and get this, can I 24/7 4.5GHz with 1.4V? I guess I need a better RAM to achieve this OC?

that will be around 10.25s,sub fsb540, i can choose higher memeory of dividers,
ran with 543fsb,5621mhz,the divider only let me choose 5:6, 5:8 can ran 1m
but not stable 32m,i think that's motherboard makers need to fix the compatible
with highfsb and high memory on x48.

    for 24/7 prime 4500mhz needs 1.43v,no need the high end RAM,u can back to 965P & ddr2,but i suggest P35 or x48,for value ddr3-1300 or ddr2 micron D9.

Awesome chip, but it looks like the stock cooler sucks ass... but honestly, who cares? Who here at XS uses the stock cooler anyways?
