That is so cool. I love taking bargain basement hardware and cranking it up! That is what overclocking used to be all about, nvm the $1000 CPU's and the $600 memory, it was about taking a $50 chip, and making it faster than the $1000 chip.

Thanks for the throw-back, nice work!

    The TwinMos is using FP-S5

    This SST is using FP-Y5

Been looking for FP-S5 for quite some times but to not avail. There is many sticks of FP-Y5 around at retail shops locally.

Might get a sticks or two and see how it goes for FP-Y5 chip

    http://www.hynix.com/products/consum...&SUB_RAM=512Mb

It identifies the "S5" as a DDR2-800 part and the "Y5" as a DDR2-667 part, otherwise appear to be the same. Based on the results in this thread, appears to be binned pretty much the same as Micron...in other words, very loosely.

(Save the decoder in pdf for future use)

For what its worth, I did note that the vr-zone sticks were 512MB and these are 1GB. Per the linked pages, the part #s for 512 and 1GB are different.

I just got some 2x1gb from Ewiz. My previous experience with hynix is that to much voltage would kill this ram really quick. I would not go over 2.1 for 24/7 use, for benchmarks 2.5 is fine
will let you know how these clock. I can put them in my chiller box @ -33c they should overclock really nice, but I'm to lazy, maybe when i get my 8500 i will fire up my chillbox

Got my 2x2GB kit. I debated starting a new thread but I don't think the results warrant it. They are obviously not as strong as the OP's 2x1GB set, but I'm quite happy with them for the price.

Note that upping TRCD opened them up a LOT. Also realize that I have virtually no idea what I am doing and that you will undoubtedly achieve better results.

This should give you a ballpark idea. I tested in 10MHz increments before upping voltage. They failed at 550MHz, and thus can do something more than than 540MHz. Subtimings can definitely be tightened up. Also, I used a 120mm fan directly over them.
