FYI : The new 8800GT layout is different

For those who are buying this card in hope to reuse their waterblock or full cover block, A review on Hardware Canucks included some fitting tests with the HR-03 and they found out the layout is closer to a 8600GT or even a 7900 so we need to see a new block for it unless the 7900 block fit. The holes is spaced differently.

VR-Zone's 8800GT review already confirmed it has same mounting patterns as 7900GT

That would suggest the DangerDen Koosah is the way to go, especially as this remains a single-slot design - can this be confirmed?

    Thanks again for asking us.

MCW60 should fit though, if youve got one of those and RAMsinks. Wont need the G80 plate.

The layout is very similar to 7900 series, but the holes are not on exact positions. I have checked that. But they are on similar position.

I found no way to get into the Nvidia to get a even none-workable card
Perhaps we will have to wait until the DNA falls.

I would like someone to confirm 100% that the 7900-series blocks fit on the 8800GT. I am nearly 100% sure that a full cover block will NOT fit at all.

Check back just a few posts - I copied my support reply from DangerDen confirming absolutely that their 7900 full-cover block (the Koosah) will NOT fit.

Eddy, I believe I just sent you an email, I had asked you about the full coverage blocks via email near the end of last week. Thanks again for that quick reply!

Hopefully we can get some good water blocks for these things soon! I want to toss a couple in my 680i board and get to benching

So which blocks would be best for the 8800gt Swiftech MCW60 or Danger Den Maze 5?
