    Intel Yorkfield QX9650 under Watercooling/cascade

    watercooled (water 22°)

On DFI P35 LP UT TR2

    Maxscreen

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=259065

On P5E3 Deluxe (not modded yet)

    Max FSB

490mhz , Good result for a Quad core watercooling but i hope non Extreme cpu can do more

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=259030

    Maxscreen

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=259044

    Max Super Pi 1M

under Cascade (2etages made by skirms , temp evap -104°)

Cpu Coldboot @ -85° , No codbug until max temp of cascade

On DFI P35 LP UT TR2

    Maxscreen

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=259252

    On Biostar TP35D3-A7

    Maxscreen

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=259434

    Max PI 1M

Score will be beter if i used other desynch than 5:8 ... but Bios was a little bugged with 2:3 1:2 .

CPu also stable @ 4200mhz (1.4v) in watercooling.

i tested under ln2 but cpu colbugged @ -105° just 1° under my cascade and i did not do more than under cascade.

Pt1t, you'll need to move the first screen shot of the cascade section into the end of the watercooling section or people will become quite confused

Apart from that it's looking good!

Wow, these chips are nice, all QX9650 we've seen so far do 4.5GHz 1M on either air or water.

These ES chips pop up like mushrooms all over the place all of a sudden.

    very nice man!

so the lowest coldboot temp was the same as the lowest temp it would work at overall pretty much? on all boards? weird...

did you compare all those boards with the cascade?
or just with h20? still nice job!
What would you say are your impressions, weaknesses and strengths of each of those boards just summed up in a few words?

thanks a lot for sharing man!

I tested DFI/Biostar under cascade (P5E3 DLX not modded gives not enough vcore) , and i prefered to bench with the biostar .... Because of the coldboot bug. When mobo freeze and system power OFF , i m forced to power down second stage and wait a temp of -80° , and wait again compressor start ^^
The Biostar mobo compared to ASUS/DFI , never power down (fro strap change or freeze) , Reset button works

    Nice results!

Seems like the Yorkfield you have is pretty good. 1.4V on water for 4,200 MHz is really good. I need 1.5V to run 4,200 MHz.

damn nice, so that biostar is not having a colboot bug?
can you repeat that? it does not have a coldboot bug?

so you tested all boards under cascade?
wow, you deserve an applause for all the insulation work man
so the biostar and dfi needed to be modded while the asus was fine with stock volts? the dfi had to be voltmodded?

No , DFI No mod , Biostar vMCH/vDimm mod , Asus Not yet modded because it needs only vcore mod (1.64v in load was not enough to push QX9650)

Diffrence with DFI/biostar, When windows freeze under DFI , i have to power OFF psu , then Coldboot , On biostar just reset and psu stay power on.

oh so on the asus and dfi boards the reset buttons dont work?
i think most likely the reboot aka hotboot path in bios doesnt work... weird... better bios support from biostar than asus/dfi
well dfi and asus probabaly think this isnt important and try to work on the bios elsewere... good decision from biostar to get this working imo.

its good to see that your playing with the dfi and asus and biostar board man, its been a while since i saw somebody play with more than 2 similar boards and compare them.

would be cool if you could do some more tests on each board and post the results, but i dont think your going for it cause of all the trouble getting the cascade fired up and insulated eh?

You ha ve a nice Penryn, our one cold bug at -50°, so its really to do some hard score...
    Only single stage or chiller.
We hope to try another one which can be similar at yours
