    Some GA-MA790-DQ6 details and results

Here are some bios and mobo shots from my GA-M790-DQ6 Sample before I finish my review for www.todoreviews.net :

    Motherboards shoots:

Performance is quite similar to 690G (Sapphire and Gigabyte samples), for example Superpi 8MB on an FX-62 (stock, DDR2 800 Cas 4-4-4) took 339,4s and 341,4s on 690G but 342,09s in this mobo.

Chipset temperatura doesn't even reach 40ºC, so it's really cool (that heatpipe may be oversized for this mobo). In other tests like PCmark, 3Dmark, Photoshop Elements, Premiere Pro, Affter Effects (this one runs faster), lame encoding, FEAR, HL2, etc etc it has similar performance to AMD 690 chipset.
Only the memory performance seems to be clear higher.

BTW, this is a sample mobo with a premature BIOS, it's suposed to have AMD AutoExpress options like metro.cl said, but it doesn't. That may be the point that will make it go faster than AMD 690.
Power consumption is almost the same as 690G.

I've also recived a GA-X38T-DQ6 with DDR3 1600 support but that's a "very" early sample, so performance results aren't the most interesting part.

Looks like a nice board if not overkill for practically everyone. I doubt the AutoExpress options will make a difference, at least not without using Crossfire. The 690 chipset performed fine, this will perform fine, the question is when will AMD release CPUs worthy of boards like these...it isn't the chipset performance holding them back.

I like how the ATI chipsets are low power and low temp, I think a DS3/4 board based on this design would a great overclocker and would have temps well in check without the ridiculous heatpipe cooler.

Thanks for the preview, you didn't try any ocing? Looks built for what with the 10? phase power circuitry.

I was also interested... but I can't. I asked for four HD2600XT samples but they weren't available at time and I only have nVidia cards, so no tests for CrossFire and QuadFire

And Maximum HTT clock you get? 357MHZ? any higher?

That was using Auto voltages. I tried to set all them to the highest value but the mobo didn't boot then :S At 360Mhz it got frozen.
