    Asus P5k Premium PCI-E 1x problem

When im setting the fsb higher then 360, the pci-e speed gets down to x1 and my gfx performance sucks.

I have tryed to 2 oficial bioses and the beta bios, but no change(at a point i could have x16 until 399, but can't remember when that was)

i have also tryed setting the pci-e to 100 and 101 MHz with no change

Other then me having this problem or a solution for me?

try 400FSB and try to play with the SB and NB voltage. My P5B Deluxe was also getting the 1x bug, but 1,45 to the NB and 1,6 to SB and the problem was gone

pci-e @100~101 may be too low people who i've seen with this issue have sorted it with >105 or so.

120 is about the max, so i'd say maybe 118. I run a 4x80gb raid & have run up to 115 without mishap.

    luck

110MHz PCI-E and it boots with 16x every time.

    Thx alot.

Final bug to get rid of now is just the sata2 problem with my 2 500GB disks

argh... I have this problem too but I am not as lucky as GargaZol. I am at 110mhz PCIE and it's still 1x for me... the graphics totally licks. sometimes my system crashes when I play games at 1x and reboots at 16x no problem. why is that happening? and how do I fix problem? and does the sata2 problem only happen when you are doing raid or it affects ide mode?

If your at 110 ther's another 8 steps that might get you right

I have only tryed raid, as it is what i wana use
    curently my 2 raid0 arrays, with 2 74gb raptors in each, works perfektly(as they use sata1), but my 2 WD5000AAKS errors(sata2).

Im afraid it is a wery known bug that the board don't work with sata2 disks, and depending on the driver/bios, some modes work.

GargaZol, I have almost the exact same setup as you but all 4 of my drives run in IDE mode and they seems to be running fine. But I want to raid the 2 rapters togather and at the same time 2 WD500AAKS togather too... seems like we have to wait for asus to fix this problem

maby your board aint bugged, you can be lucky

I "solved" the problem by jumping my 2 WD500AAKS, forcing the in to sata1 mode

    @mono666

Just out of interest after getting the pci-e back to x16 by going to 115 if you go back into bios & drop back to 100 or 101, does it retain the pci-e at x16. ??

reason i ask is here Gfx only running at x1 I don't hav the issue but wonder if clunk's suggestion works :-
Yeah, you dont want it to stay that high. Just put it back to 100 and it should stay at 16x. If not, try 101
    cheers
