G5 on the Test Bench :)

Well, after a long hiatus from testing, I finally got around to pulling the G5 out of my Green rig. I replace the G5 with a shiny new bowed and nozzled Fuzion I can tell you that I don't have high hopes for the G5 beating the GTX or the Fuzion but we will see. I also plan to test the new Enzotech block and the Thermalright block. I think I will have to purchase the Thermalright block but apparently Enzotech is sending me a sample so that is good. I have emailed Marci to send me his source excel file from which he made that awesome graph of all the blocks and each mount. This way I can continually add to it as blocks get tested

Anyhow, just a quick update. I'm back on the horse.

NCIX also won't have stock until the same time they arrive from everyone else...

Scott, I put the G7 in to the machinists for them to fix it, and that was 6 weeks ago. I've reminded them a few times, but they're not being good to me.

Curious to know how the G5 goes.

    Same...

Does that mean you're gonna test indie blocks as well as the big stuff? I have a reason for asking...

Hmm, another oddity. Just did first run of the G5 and it posted the WORST numbers yet - of ANY block . Something is amiss here. I did a quick remount, except i rotated the block 90 degrees so the inlet/outlet are vertical rather than horizontal. Seems to have made quite a difference although it was just a quick 'check and see'. I'm done for the day, I hope it is just a weird mount issue with caps on the board or something but the paste imprint looked good etc. Will know more next week.

huh, check you jets--mine get plugged about every month from miscellaneous junk that jets that gets dislodged. This is definitely just an issue with the G5 (or mine specifically), as the same loop (thoroughly cleaned out multiple times, and every time I change a piece of hardware) with my three past Swiftech G4's never ever ever got plugged.

Block was disassembled, checked and cleaned before put on test bed. Do you think I'm new?

Niksubh I have to say that my temps with my G5 have not been very good. I would not be surprised if it didn't perform all that well here.
