    ASUS OVERCLOCKING COMPETITION 2007 @ INDONESIA

    To All overclockers around the world, Got the nerve for some overclocking challenge ????
    Come and join us at AOCC 2007 in Indonesia. The Contest will be held

    Date : 25 – 26 August 2007
    Place : Ratu Plaza Computer mall, Jakarta, Indonesia
    Time : 10 AM – Onwards (Indonesian Time)
    Registration fee : 100.000 IDR (±11 USD) / day

    This is how we play it (Rules And Regulation )

    Standard Hardware Configuration
    o DDR2 1st Day ( 25 August 2007 )
    - Motherboard : Asus P5K Deluxe/WiFi
    - Prosesor : Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700
    - Graphics card : Asus EN8800GTS 320MB
    - Power supply : FSP 700 Watt
    - Hard disk : Western Digital 160 GB SATA
    - Memory : Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-8500C5D

    o DDR3 2nd Day (26 August 2007)
    - Motherboard : Asus P5K3 Deluxe/WiFi
    - Prosesor : Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700
    - Graphics card : Asus EN8800GTS 320MB
    - Power supply : FSP 700 Watt
    - Hard disk : Western Digital 160 GB SATA
    - Memory : Corsair TWIN3X2048-1333C9

    Hardware Handover
    The Contestant are required to register their hardware (Serial Number, Condition, Readyness, Utility equipment and ETC) to the official before he competition start. Contestant will receive a receipt and letter of agreement for the use of the hardware from the officer. Therefore he or she must sign the letter of agreement if agreed to the terms and regulations.

    Hardware Replacement
    Contestant couldn’t ask for a hardware replacement. Before the competition starts, the officers in charge will assure that all hardware are fully ready and operational.

    Spot Place and Platform
    Before the competition starts, the contestant will receive a table spot and platform that is drawn from the lucky draw placement.

    Hardware Modification
    Hard modding and soldering is not allowed. Some modification that causes no damage is allowed. No permanent physical damage or any other minor damage to the hardware causes by modding.

    Other Electrical Appliances
    The use of other electrical appliances is allowed. The maximum power wattage for one set of table is 1000 Watts/ table. That includes with the power for rig that you use. UPS and Stabilizer are allowed but not more that 1000 Watts. Each team can only use 1 UPS and 1 stabilizer. These equipment must be brought by the contestant himself.

    Cooling System
    Cooling system that is allowed are heatsink, heatpipe, waterblock and dry ice. No other cooling system shall be used in the competition. Such as phase change, Liquid Nitro, ETC. The contestant must provide dry ice for them self.

    Free BIOS Use
    Contestant are allowed to update their new BIOS or modified bios on their motherboards and VGA cards. This procedure must be accompany by jury or official

    Operating System (Software)
    Operating system software that will be use is the Windows XP Service Pack 2 from Microsoft

    Additional Software
    Contestant are not allowed to bring any additional software. All software will be provided by the jury and official. No additional storage or any other additional media can be plugged into the system. That means no WiFi, USB peripherals and any other media.

    · MemSet
    · CoreTemp
    · Asus AI Suite
    · Nihibitor

    Any changes or addition to the software will be announced by the official the day before he competition start

    Benchmarking Software
    Benchmarking softwares are
    · Super PI 8M
    · 3Dmark 2001 SE
    · 3Dmark 2006
    · PC Mark 2005
    · Quake III Demo ( Timedemo 001 )

    All of these softwares are to be conducted on default mode. No modification of the properties will be allowed.



    Benchmarking and Scoring Procedure
    Duration for 1 session is 4 hours. There he must perform all of the benching categories including pre installation. Benching roll are to be done freely. The contestant can submit the final score for several times. Means he can submit the highest score that he can make anytime he wishes to. But the final score is the final benchmark submitted by the contestant.

    Scoring System (Scoring board)
    For every bench that is made, the result will be handed over to the Jury so that the Jury can line up the scores. These scores are converted into point. The points are

    · Winner will receive 10 points
    · 1st Runner up will receive 8 points
    · 2nd Runner up will receive 6 points
    · 3rd Runner up will receive 4 points
    · 4th Runner up will receive 2 points
    · Other contestant that are able to score and submit to the official but couldn’t set for the big 5 will receive 1 point for every bench he make.
    · Those contestant are not able to score and submit will not receive any point.

    All the point from the contestant will be recount and collected. The contestant with the highest score will win the tournament

    If a tie points occurs, so the points from the in order benchmark software will be the judge for deciding winner. The list order for benchmark softwares are
    1. Super PI 8M
    2. 3Dmark 2001 SE
    3. 3Dmark 2006
    4. PC Mark 2005
    5. Quake III Demo ( Timedemo 001 )

    Sample : If a tie points is occur on the Super PI 8M bench, so the winner will be decide from the winner point measure from 3Dmark 2001 SE.

    Additional Accomodation
    For foreign competitors (Non Indonesian), some accommodation will be provided for you . The accommodations are :
    · Hotel for two nights (25 and 26 August)
    · Pick up and drop off at Airport Soekarno Hatta
    · 5 kg of dry ice.
    But please confirm your arrival first because we would like to prepare it for you

    · Provided backup heatsink from Scythe
    · Added benchmarking softwares (optional)

    On behalve of the commitee, i want to thank you to all of you guys for participating on the the ASUS Overclocking Competition. I want to apologize if the show was different from what we scheduled. Because at first i thought that we're gonna do the best five winner for DDR2 to compete again in DDR3. But the sponsor have a different perspective and i'm so sorry to all the contestant who have expecting for this opportunity. But overall i think it went well and it went fine. Congratulations to all the contestant who have won the compy. I hope maybe someday we can improve the the show and the accomodation that we provide.

    nice competition... me an jozzy won coz we're lucky got Q6700 (G0 Rev) that can bench 4.6ghz on dry ice, with only 1.664v (real). if we mod the vcore, we might bench @ 4.7 - 4.8ghz

    First day ours was almost as good as Andre/Joz's, we simply couldn't beat them on the day.
    Second day though we lost only due to very average CPU
