How about dropping that multiplier down and upping the FSB?

My guess is that Intel is trying to make sure that one of those options isn't spelled AMD.

The E4600 (12 x 200 = 2.4GHz, with 2MB cache) is scheduled for release Q4 of '07 so there will be another one (12 multi) to choose from then. One a FSB limited mobo, these are probably welcomed chips.

I did read within the last couple of days that the E2220 is an "ES only" cpu and will not be released as a retail chip. Does anyone know if whether that is true or not?

With that 12x multi CPU and 200strap on the BadAxe2 it would be a price/perfomance killer

A E4600 make more sense IMHO.

Also, is there any chart with the new CPU pre-Penryn till 4Q07 around ?

that CPU seems like a DUD...
