    3DM2001 low clock challenge

I know we need a thread like this, so here it is .

This is all about skills showoff, and the rules are pretty simple: try to get the best possible 3DM01 score at given clocks for CPU and VGA. Singlecard scores only, any FSB / RAM / video shader clocks are allowed.

The limit for CPU's should be 3.6Ghz as almost any Core 2 Duo can do it. After some dicussions I've settled to the following limits for VGA's:

    8800Ultra - 711/1200
    8800GTX - 661/1100
    8800GTS - 661/1000
    HD2900XT - 870/1025

They are a little difficult to get on completely stock cards but doable with voltmods on stock coolers, enough to make the challenge a bit harder but still available to as many people as possible.

This is limited only to current gen highend cards as i don't have the time to update the ranking all the time. That won't stop you to submit well tweaked scores with any type of cards though .

    RANKING

And to give the go-ahead, here's a start score on DDR3 platform. So far it's way slower than good DDR2.

    E6700 @ 3.6Ghz
    8800U @ 700/1200
    2x1GB DDR3 @ 720Mhz 6-7-6-18

Setting the GPU Freq at 660MHz for all standard 8800GTX's results in 648MHz real op. frequency.
So 648MHz core clock for the 8800GTXs, right ?

1100MHz for mems it's a bit higher.... maybe 1040 it's a good spot to everyone

Right The same situation with 8800 Ultra

Yes, 1040-1060MHz is ok, 1100MHz some [ not moded ] GTX not can do.

btw ; 700GPU for Ultra at this moment ( pretty hot ) also on night is not posible for me ( not only me ) Max I can do 660/1130MHz

    What about 8800GTS?

I know I can get decent (8800 GTX Single) card scores on my GTS SLI

Have not run Single card and my Quad core. That and I have yet to see if I can get stable @ 3.6

Though I have a E6300 that should be able to get to 3.6

Those were just some round clocks, i've edited now so you can enter with 661Mhz for GTX and 711Mhz for Ultra.
Not anyone can do those limit-clocks on stock cards but with voltmodded cards it's easy even with stock cooling. A good tweaker won't be stopped by a voltmod here and there.

All in all, let's warm up the competition a little bit, shall we ?

    Excellent idea

How about a 8800GTS comp with max clocks 600/1700 to see who can pull the most out of the masses ?

no see your level of OCing experience and sick benches should not be able to stomp on us little guys, hell most of us are struggling with a 20-50% OC............not the monster 80%-100%OCs .

For real? Those of us that have GTS are we not qualified? Also those of us that are SLI GTS? Cause I KNOW I can run @ least @ Stock GTX Speeds

I think you miss the point compeltely, this is not who can get the most overclock it is about the best result at a certain achievable frequencies so showing good tweaking skills, hence why I suggested 600/1700 GTS scores. Mind you how do you stop cheating ?

600/1700 works fine... I'm playing with it right now on my 680iGOSLOW board. Wish I had my xbx2 for this... Anyone else want to step up to the plate?

Ive been running 4ghz runs all day before you really decided on 3.6, and if I can do it on a quad, you should be able to do it on a dual core!

Ah freed from that 109mhz PCIE limit on xbx2 at least. I need a vdimm mod so I can get a decent trfc going on and push 600mhz ram

This morning I distinctly remember seeing a thread with 661/1050 @ 4ghz with someone holding 72,000 points, so I must be in the wrong thread...

3.6 is not even daily speeds for a dual core...
