XFX, Galaxy, Zotac ... have 8500GT DDR3 version, Palit also have this card Cheap and not bad.



Green, non reference PCB, and non reference alu cooler.

Stock clocks : 600MHz/600MHz ( 1200MHz DDR3 ), easy overclocking to 750MHz/780MHz ( 1560MHz DDR3 ), without change cooler, mods ... Out of box, put card in slot and have this clocks


Test system for 2k1, 2k3, 2k5 and Aquamark 3.

The Super Version maybe have only 512MB V-Ram, and nothing more.

Hehe yes - X850XT ( PE ) is still good card, but not good with new bench, games.

Also 05 score for this card is pretty good

The card is about 80 Euro.

There will also be 8300GS and 8400GS and those cards are supposed to have better specs, but nothing confirmed yet.
The 8500GT is meant to be a cheapo dx10 office card.

But the DDR3 version is tempting

8500GT w/ 512MB of VRAM would be great, get two of them and put them in SLI for $160 and you have yourself a cheap toy, could be a lot of fun.

Interesting numbers. My 7600gs beats that card in 2k1 and aquamark by a good margin. Interesting that the 8500 kills my 7600gs in 2k5 though. Do you have any 2k6 benches? I've considered getting an 8500 with ddr3 for some 2k6 benching.

Still no 2k6 bench, becouse my cpu is bit broken And sometimes I have restart with CPU test in 2k6, but sometimes is good.

Already I soldering vmem mod and doing short test Without vmem, max stable mem clock ~770MHz, after mod 810MHz

Small bump in best bench ever - 01

Add vgpu + vmem, run bench at 786/820MHz ( 1640MHz ) and score bump ~1k points.

Already I'm limited by cooling - this is only stock small cooler Temp after mod with idle is 52C, so not good.

Interesting - I notice the majority of these cards have no SLi connector except for the Asus design - will this limit the SLi figures greatly?

Nice synthetic results but how about real games? Cuz G86 (8500GT) is basically just half of a G84 (8600GT) and the latter barely keeps up with the 7900GS or X1950Pro (except for Oblivion and RS Vegas). By this reasoning the 8500GT should be worse than the 7600GT.

Hi everyone

I have the same card but the xpertvision version, which is exactly the same as the Palit one. It comes clocked @600/1200 and it overclocks quite well to 775/1600 temp around 52'C- 60'C on load.

Does anyone know of a pencil mod for this card, I would like to mod it but I am not into soldering.

it's far worse... i score 30k on 01 with an X800XL + opty 144 @ 2.85ghz and 1gb BH5 @ low clocks because of my crappy board (Asus A8N-E), so this one with MUCH better hardware only score's 34k...

Then please try to play for example Splinter Cell Double Agent with your X850XT.

One of the biggest advantages over the X850XT is SM3.0 support. Ever thought about that?

I testing SLI setup, but score is too low, so no upload yet.

No SLI bridge of course.

01 - no change SLI, or non SLI score
03 - ~18k - this is not best bench for this card.
05 - ~13k good for me.

06 still not able to run with actual CPU.
