Quick P5K Deluxe Quad-core FSB Test

Picked up my P5K Deluxe from Novatech on Tuesday (quick hint to the UK guys, they have stock of the P5K and the Deluxe, and significantly cheaper than OcUK) but had been using my X6800 initially.

Dropped in my Core 2 Quad Q6600 today to have a little play and currently running Orthos at 7 x 420MHz, 2940MHz overall clockspeed.

CPU voltage and memory voltage have been tweaked but all other voltages have been left stock.

Unfortunately my memory is a limiting factor, P35 doesn't offer anything less than a 1:1 memory ratio and I'm stuck with some old DDR2-800 CAS5 which won't go much higher than this.

Know its not much information but have seen people crying out quad-core for results so thought I might as well throw in what I could

480mhz has been reached on the P5K Deluxe with a QX6700 over at the OcUK forums. Looks like 500mhz is possible.

Does quad demand somehow more from nb or why only 500MHz "might be possible"?

Kentsfield is made up of 2 dice, these place a heavier electrical load on the front side bus and therefore generally do not scale as high as Conroe's.
