A long time ago I made changes for SP2004 to run from a BartPE CD (which should be similar to Ultimate Boot CD). Orthos should run the same way as SP2004 from a CD. The Prime95 code wants a place to write out some data, so a RAM disk is needed IIRC.

I'm not a programmer and I'm kind of lost with your post's link. Could you either by pm or response here give me directions on how to use the code your reference? I'm also not sure how to integrate sp2004 into the BartPE disk. Can you please explain?
Hello, Sailin. Could you give a wish list of sorts: That is, all the temp monitoring / statistics / timing / etc functionality you'd like to see in such a tool? I could use a project to work on.
Wow Renfield, THANK YOU very much!!!!! My ideal is quite simple. I got very used to using a bootable version of Prime95 when overclocking single core cpu's. It saved a lot time and prevented unstable clocks from corrupting an otherwise stale install of XP.
Now that I have a dual core, my bootable P-95 is not that reliable because it only stresses one core. I thought, why hell, there must be a bootable version of SP2004. Well, I guess not. I haven't been able to source it.
I guess this would be my "wish list":
- ability to stress dual/core/multi cores in a non-windows OS environment, ie, a bootable program that would stress all cores and give some type of feedback.
I guess the functionality of SP2004, using the same type of calculations as P-95.
- a real time temp monitoring feature would be cool.
- some type of gui that showed that all cores are busy, similar to SP2004, that will also show when a core fails, similar to SP2004.

IIRC, you'll need a WinXP disk, a CD-burner app, plus the BartPE download.
BartPE takes a WinXP disk, grabs enough files from there to create a bootable CD.
You can add your own apps to the BartPE CD via the 'plugin' interface.
The post I previously pointed to contains the 3 plugin-specific files that BartPE needs to create a menu entry for SP2004/Orthos so a user can run the app from the BartPE CD.
The plugin files and the SP2004/ORTHOS executable files are stored in their own directory under the plugins directory.
Once that's all setup, you tell BartPE to make an ISO/CD.
A CD-RW is useful at this point - using CD-Rs may create a lot of coasters until you get it right.
That's about it for my brain. If you need more info, you should read the BartPE forums.
Thanks typo! That's a project I can probably handle. I have read about the BartPE disk, but never used it. Sounds like a great project to get my ears wet with.

First of all I would like to say thanks one more time.
I built a BartPE .iso, Orthos runs but it only starts one thread (CPU #0).
Probably it checks some sort of variable on BartPE that tells it how many CPUs are available.
i know this is a noob questions but what does bootable mean?
You don't need to run a benchmark or test based on an installed operating system. It runs from the CD and tests your hardware without any writing to your HD or messing up with your operating system.
You boot from the cd or usb device and it loads a working environment where you can test the system.
The trial version can edit up to 300MB .iso files that's way higher than what we need in this case.
Install it.
Run UltraISO and open the "everestnokey.iso" image file.
The program shows up two different explorer like views, one is your .iso image contents and the other below is a Windows Explorer like view of your system contents.
Browse through the image file directories and find the Everest folder. Now using the "Windos Explorer view, browse through your hard disk directories and find your Everest folder. In your system's Everest 4.0 folder you'll find a file called "pkey.txt", drag it to your iso image Everest folder. After the procedure, click on the save button.
The image below show how it's done. It's really easy.
i downloaded it twice, both times it was corruped (7zip, winrar and TotalCommander was unable to unpack it) maybe theres error on my side but... can you check it?

I'll mirror it on other services. Maybe it's the file hosting or your route to it.
I packed using latest 7zip, and tested unpacking with the latest WinRAR (beta 8 I think). The download is ok for me.

for example super_pi 1.5mod , cpu_z to show infos , sppedfan and coretemp for read temperatures and maybe some program to take a snapshot of the bench that you have make with the result.
maybe i am asking to much but it would be great to have also this stuff
