That being said, I think this thread would be a great idea if it can be done in a similar manner to the Conroe Overclock Database that was stickied to this section.

lol i was gonna say that ... linking the search function makes that du seem like a jerk.. thats just the impression i get

anyway yeah.. but i dont think the newer batches conroe have any fsb wall ... my E6400 L624A264 did at 425fsb ... anything over that wont boot at all, that was one of the earliest retail batch. L623 i believe is the earliest retail... myL631F E6600 didnt have any fsb .. although its a bit vcore hungry .. takes 1.61v droop to get 475x8 stable

Just want to see how well these cpu's are clocking, since this probably will be the most popular cpu come september-october.

You won't find too many Q6600 OC'ers here yet. The price just came down and anyone who had a quad core prior to last week was using a QX6700.

Here's what I've found for recent quad-core (mostly QX6700) overclocking on 680i boards which is what I'm leaning towards.

It would be great to hear from others.

    680i Board / CPU / FSB / Multi / Clock / Vcore / Cooling / Link

There's more here in this recent thread... (So Nanometer has a point... why start another thread when there's already one just on the second page!)

    http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=141122

There's also a ton of info over on the EVGA forums since they launched the new P27 bios and A1/T1 board revisions specifically oriented at improving quad core overclocking.

Very nice overclock, and only 1.32Vcore, wow either ive got a crap chip as usual, or im doin somet wrong.

At the mo im at 3Ghz (9x333) with 1.4Vcore in BIOS. (Pretty sure this mobo Vdroops a lot).

I tried 8x375 which is 3Ghz and it won't even boot into windows, get a blue screen off death. Memory and board did 450 memtest stable with a 6700, so this board must had Quads.......

Oh also Vanderpool Tech option in BIOS is greyed out?????? Why????? I notice it's reccommened disabled in the -Deluxe thread.

It seems that XBX2 is limited to 370 fsb generally. Striker limited to 380-390 fsb, on the quad core. Commando seems to run it best for me so far...

running 370x9 at 1.35v vcore after pencilmod, no vdroop...... at 1.38v I could run 380x9 but after that, it becomes too hot...priming at 90+.....

Hi, can you guys help me understand this Q6600 FPO/Batch?

    FPO/BATCH#: L638F049

How do you decode this? What can we determine from this?

I'm thinking of buying an X3220 instead so I may send this back without opening it.

    Let me know your thoughts.

How do you get orthos to full load all 4 cores?

Mine gets pretty hot, with a thermalright 120 Ultra. 55-60C with side panel off, 1.415 Vcore, 7x440 (3080Mhz), and cores aren't loaded fully.

    Should i re-sit the heatsink

I had probs with FSB lower than 400, but it seems pretty stable at 440.

What's the prognosis? Good potential overclocker, bad, or just can't tell from the stepping?
