What video setup if I have 2 NEC LCD1980FXi Monitors
Hi Guys,
Just speccing out my new rig and need advice on the video card(s). I currently have 2 of these monitors
http://www.trustedreviews.com/displa...LCD-monitor/p1
They both come with a D-SUB, DVI-D, and a DVI-I ports and are 1,280 x 1,024 pixels.
From the reviews they seem to be pretty good monitors so am I fine to run them both in dualhead style mode on the new box or should I be looking to change to a single large widescreen lcd?
Does the number of monitors effect card choice. If I run dual 8800GTX in sli then am I right in saying I can't run 2 monitors although I did hear this box of tricks can digitally split a feed to 2+ monitors. Would that run with sli ?
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gx...gital/home.php
It can split configurations with a maximum resolution of up to 3840 x 1024 (3x 1280x1024) which would seem to suit my monitors.

Any help greatfully received.
The main rig will be a watercooled quad cpu , striker mb, etc etc (fairly high end)
Ta

one 88gtx will run both monitors at that res easy, whether cloned or spanned - if in SLI, then yes u can only run one monitor unless, u get that matrox thingy - check out my sig regarding the 1950 & the 2 21"s

Perfect - and if I run a third ? Same story or do I need more power !

third u'll definitely need that matrox thingy obviously - & if u have even 1 88gtx u'll b fine for gaming across all three... http://www.nintek.com.au/x/scripts/p...idproduct=5455 there r some reviews linked on this page - follow them & see what results they get for gaming - i cant remember what card(s) they had - but they definitely werent as good as 8800gtx
