    Prolly the Vcore is still fixed at 1.39 till 450FSB, I hope this isn't the bios Bachus anonymous was testing (Corsair techie) as he didn't have any limitations on the vcore plus no droop...

    Can you verify if you set eg 1.55 you get around 1.5 in bios ? I'm interested in 400FSB , currently still on 0901 beta, very stable but voltages below 400 are free, at and above 400FSB 1.39 or set at 1.6 to give 1.55 ( too high for my current cooling )

    Cya
    Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    installed ok here with same clocks , got nasty high pitched squeal on install so removed battery and all was then fine , this has happened on the last few bios flashes
    set to 1.5 volts in bios and voltage given back in harware monitor is 1.48 with fsb at 500
    set it to 1.575 = 1.48
    1.6 = 1.55 pretty much same as before on the volts for me

    As I suspected, ASUS did not make it to include the fix in this Official 0901 BIOS.
    I have yet another "work version" BETA BIOS (dated 02/14/2007) and this one seems to be working great as far as vCore - 1.55v selected in BIOS, measured with a DMM as 1.525v. There is no significant vdroop either.

    Below, is what voltages I get at particular FSB:

    Code:
    425MHz FSB (1700MHz QDR)    |   455MHz FSB (1820MHz QDR)
    BIOS HM DMM BIOS HM DMM
    1.400 --> 1.40v --> 1.376v      1.400 --> 1.40v --> 1.375v
    1.425 --> 1.44v --> 1.400v
    1.450 --> 1.45v --> 1.424v      1.450 --> 1.45v --> 1.425v
    1.475 --> 1.47v --> 1.448v
    1.500 --> 1.50v --> 1.473v      1.500 --> 1.50v --> 1.472v
    1.525 --> 1.53v --> 1.498v
    1.550 --> 1.55v --> 1.522v      1.550 --> 1.55v --> 1.521v
    1.575 --> 1.58v --> 1.547v
    1.600 --> 1.60v --> 1.570v      1.600 --> 1.60v --> 1.570v
    1.625 --> 1.63v --> 1.603v
    1.650 --> 1.64v --> 1.626v      1.650 --> 1.64v --> 1.626v
    1.675 --> 1.68v --> 1.650v
    1.700 --> 1.69v --> 1.674v      1.700 --> 1.69v --> 1.673v

    BIOS - voltage as selected in BIOS
    HM - voltage reported by Hardware Monitor
    DMM - voltage measured with a digital multimeter
    I will find out if I can release it. Don't worry, the issue is now gone, just a matter of when the BIOS is going to be available for everyone. As soon as I get the "GO", I will upload it for for you guys.

    bachus_anonym is a long time XS member who contributes a lot of useful info and in depth memory reviews. He is currently employed by Corsair Memory and I assume does a lot testing with various motherboards and memory. If you look under his name by his avatar you will see it says "Corsair Lab Techie" and the picture he links to in his post has a Corsair logo.

    Lucky for us he's got a Striker and some beta bios's.

    this would be good...if i could set just a tad over 1.5v real vcore i would be a happy camper.

    The new BIOS is version 1001, should be released next week if they do not do another spin on it to tighten up the VCore a little more.

    BETA 1001 I have here, does not have a fix for vCore being "locked" at 1.40v and 1.50, below and above 400MHz FSB respectively. Only allowed for voltage higher than 1.60v.

    Anyway, I can post the BIOS now. As far as I can tell, once it's official (very soon), this one will become BIOS 1001.

    Striker Extreme BETA BIOS (vCore fix) - download

    I personally go old-fashioned way, and use awdflash and USB key, but EZ Flash should be fine as well...

    Enjoy and let me know how it goes for ya

    So...how is the Striker with this new 1001 bios? Is it rock solid and terrific board or has this latest bios just brought it up to acceptable?

    We had two 1001 beta releases this week. The first on 2/13 (02130) and the latest revision on 2/15 (02151) that helped improve the under 1.60V ills.

    Bachus

    I see BIOS 1002.zip on the ASUS FTP site. Is this the new BIOS? Why is it called 1002 and not 1001?

    Also, why isnt it yet on the ASUS download page? Did you try it?

    Thanks

    Yes, I have flashed it and it's exactly the same one as the last BETA I had (02151), with the same changes.
