Who here is using more then 1.5Vcore to there C2D CPU everyday?

Is anyone here using more then 1.50Vcore to there conroes for everyday use? I need 1.53Vcore to achive 3.8GHz on my E6600 and was wondering how safe it will be. My temps should be controlled well, as the CPU will be W/Ced with its own triple 120mm rad.
    Nothing anymore

I run 1.575V for 3.6 Ghz (400x9). Run almost 24/7, idle high 30s, low 40s and full load high 50s, Orthos load low 60s. This is on a cheap watercooling system.

The nvidia 680i overclocking manual listed 1.58750 as the max safe voltage.

for how long though? That's like pressuring up a soda bottle past it's capacity and saying, yeah, it can hold it for the 2 minutes i left the pressure that high. but it might burst from more long term stress.

I cant believe how different the answers here are compaired to [H] forum. The people @ the [H] for the most part say 1.5 is to much, and will damage the chip, but here 1.5 seems to be the norm. I love it here, you people are great! I figured that as long as I keep the temps in check, shouldn't be an issue. Besides, when I set 1.535Volts on my ASUS board, im really getting only 1.46xx something anyways.

I've been using between 1.55-1.565v on my E6400 with a Big Typhoon.

Just a bit over 1.6v on my E6600 on water.

This is nonsense. There are some hard guys there just like their are NooBs here. Don't generalize. W1zzard, who just got made a legend here, has been on that hardforum for years and was writing softmods for video cards for at least 5 years. Can you write your own softmod hacks?

I'm running more THAN (as opposed to the ebonics "then") 1.5: 1.525v on Big Typhoon (3.34 GHz), doing D2OL and Folding 24/7 until my Vapo comes back from Jin's shop, then back to 1.7 (4.4+). It's a $300 processor. If it borks, I'll buy a quad.

But for some people, a burned CPU means no more computer. If you are too poor to replace a component, maybe you should be more careful! Keep in mind, newls1, that some people here 1) have more money than brains or 2) get their equipment for free. The culture here is run it on the bleeding edge until it explodes, and if does, buy another one. Perhaps your budget does not allow for such a cavalier attitude?

For the record, I've done more damage with extreme cooling (and condensation) than with heat.

Same here, last week my Vapo claimed an AW9D-MAX, P5B-Dlx, and a DFI ICFX3200. I revamped my entire insulation apparatus this go around and it's been running flawlessly for near a week now on my new ICFX3200.

On my E6600, the max. voltage is 1.35v (on the box). It only just so happens that that's what it took to get it to 3.2 - and that's what "I" wanted.

I prefer to keep voltages as low as possible.
For now i'm using 1.4V ,that's 1.4375V in bios, enough to run Orthos small ftt's for 8 hours.

Hell, i haven't even tried over 1.5325V (in bios) for benches.
    I'm a chicken.

No, that's only the default operating voltage, it's not really a 'max' voltage.

No, it's listed as the max (1.35); the default is 1.325.
