OvercLocKed~E6300 vs e4300

hi evry1, wats the difference between e6300 and e4300 when maximum overclocked, which one will win in most of the benchmarks, and i think after 2 days the e4300 will be released so anyone please tell me ..because i would be buying one of these processor

the E4300 is already out, but if you want to know what it can do, anandtech did a review on it like 2 weeks ago, they overclocked it from 1.8ghz to 3.38ghz on stock cooling

i want e6300 overclocked too not just an e4300, and i saw a guy he OCed his e4300 till 3.7ghz (1.7v in bios) dats awesome, by da way whr is e4300 sold??, its not there in newegg, and i am living in Dubai i would be goin to canada in april or may so i think there will be lower price for e4300 (119$)

I would like to see a clock for clock comparison with say the x6800, I've yet to see solid evidence as to when the extra 2 megs of L2 kicks in.

The E4XXX series CPUs seem to output less performance clock per clock even compared to an E63XX/E64XX CPU. Why is that? Both have 2 MB L2.

e6300's will probably top out around the same spot as the 4300 because the multi on the 6300 is so low not many motherboards can push it past 3.5ghz.

so if its between those two i would get the 4300, but i think the best cpu to get is the 6400 if you can afford it.

Core 2 Duo's are very well designed, and really like as much memory data as possible, I believe the extra FSB of the 6300 is pushing it over the 4300, like I said, I'd like to see a clock for clock comparison.

The gaming performance it put out overclocked seemed to be fairly good according to anandtech's results? http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets...spx?i=2903&p=6 at least in my opinion.... I will remind you all that the overclocked 3.38ghz is on stock cooling, this thing could up and surpass the X6800 in the catagories it lost in if better cooling was applied and the speed pushed even higher.

Yeah, there is definatly something going on inside the E4XXX series which is causing the lower efficiency.

Look at how the E6400@ 2.88 Ghz is able to keep up fairly well with the 2.93 Ghz E6800.



The E6400 is pretty close with pretty close clocks.


Now look at the E4XXX cpu at 3.4 Ghz comparing to an E6800.




Things not looking so great. Like someone else said, we need a clock for clock comparison.

Not that 2MB Cache vs 4MB Cache has got anything to do with an e4300 vs e6300,



I'm waiting for my e4300 to arrive to replace my two week old e6300 (thats having problems reaching 3.4GHz/486MHz-FSB) so will be interesting to have a play with Intel’s® 'new' Allendale Core.

The Egg is selling them as of tonight, albeit at jacked up prices. I sucked up the $40 overprice and bought one which I'll cool with water. I like this chip because you can get a 200% overclock at only a 400FSB with DDR2 800 RAM. 3600 MHz on the 6300 would mean a 514 FSB and 1066 RAM to run 1:1. I have no doubt that the frequency difference will show up on the benches but if you match this chip with a P5N-E SLI board and cool those chipsets with water you're only talking a little over $320 for a 3.6GHz mobo and CPU combo. 680i mobos cost that all by themselves. If you use only one 8800 series there will be no issue with the limit of 16 lanes for PCIe for graphics. Sounds like a deal to me.

The good thing about the e4300 is it still supports c1e/eist and therefore should allow multiplier stepdown to 6x. So if you really wanted to compare e6300 vs e4300 in same scenario, you could drop e4300 to 7x and run at 266fsb.

bcuz u can take a cheap mobo that could get this processor till 400fsb, i will go for a ds3. the best thing abt it is the multiplyer, and the bad thing abt it is da 2mb L2 cache, i think dat is also sufficient but if it would be 4mb i would love it

I am thinking of buying DA-965P-DQ6 motherboard and either 4300 or 6300 and overclocking it over 3Ghz to achive performances better than x6800 on default clock. I am newbie at this so please tell me which have better performances on that board? Also there would be 2 GB ddr2 PC667 corsair...

if u go wid e6300 den buy dq6 and if u are planning to go wid e4300 then go wid ds3. better to go wid e6400 and ds3

I won't buy e6400 because e6300 has better oveclocking potencial. Question is e6300 with DQ6 or e4300 with DS3

go for e6300 and dq6 for cheap option go for ds3

e6300 with biostar tforce965pt. Those thing hit really high fsb.
