DDR2 Compatible with NF chipsets List

    Hello!

I started this thread cause recently i heard many problems with memory compatibility with nForce chipsets!

Please report here any compatibity problems you faced with nf4,nf5 and nf6 mobos in order to make a list and possible solutions to our problems!

    I will start with Cellshock...

according to this Hit me and after a translation from babelfish
Times briefly to the explanation of the i680 of problem: Due to the demands of the customers we had made SPD into our an entry for 1000C4 and/or 1000C5. This prepared on all boards tested so far (975, 965...) no problems, since this sucked with first boats. "safe defaults" set and it thus make possible to set attitudes the desired (and demanded). The i680 does not offer this however and is there in SPD no entry for the memory tension intended, bootet the board simply and simply not. As consequence its we programmed our modules immediately with EPP (Enhanced performance of profile), in order to anticipate this problem. All modules beginning with the seriennummer with 110 should possess the EPPs. Of course we also offer Usern concerned to give to us your modules in order to program in the course a RMA new SPD with EPP. However the customer must be responsible here for forwarding expenses to us. The moreover one have some user a kind "workaround" found - boats with only one module or boats with other modules - attitudes also here already set - and then "as used" further muddled (this no Top solution is natural to be able to operate but nevertheless a possibility the modules also without the stress of dispatching and the PC free time). In this sense - Happy Overclocking
Cellshock modules are compatible with NF chipsets when the SN starts from 110 and if you have problems you can conatct Cellshock to solve your problems after re-programming your spd...(that's good)

Here it is the ASUS compatibility List (ICs)..but they have to update it more often!

Waiting for your participation to fulfill the list...once we have many reports..i will update the first post as soon as i can...!

When Mercedes brought their C111 to Talledega years ago and blew away the closed course record did it count? Yes..
That was a "factory" car and a "one of" that no one could buy and was never sold.
Records are records and that is a fact so get over it.

    Hi guys,

just had a call with GoriLLakos regarding new CellShock SPD with EPP Profiles.
When we released the modules the i680 wasn´t available and all tested chipsets were fine. We checked nForce590, i975, i965, etc.

With the i680 we had to implement EPP profiles for all our DDR2-memories as well as relaxing the timings a little bit to prevent boot-problems on our DDR2-1000. Now i680 problem is gone

Any problems regarding CellShock please feel free to contact me directly by:

    Mail: arue@msc-ge.com

I have just bought Cell Shock PC8000 2X1GB KIT 5-5-5-15 and the serial number on the back of the heatspreader is #083583-10925697360.
I cant test yet still waiting for stock of 680I boards at local store. Is this kit compatible or am i going to have to RMA for reprogramming of SPD.
Also, what is this workaround mentioned i cant quite make out what it is

If i choose not to RMA my kit to have SPD reprogrammed with EPP profiles and just use another stick of ram to boot and set up, will i be missing out on anything? Do the EPP`s make that big a difference and will i lose out on anything?

some users also reported better 1T performance after SPD re-programming

    example: before 360 1T now 440 1T

I tried them and they worked in my nForce 4 MoBo (P5ND2 Sli Deluxe), I removed the OCZ PC5400 and slide in the CellShock's 1000 4-4-4-12, but after any bios reset, BIOS didn't post.

Every time I did a BIOS reset (remove to power cord and the battery from the board) I had to put the OCZ in order to set the timings and voltages. After that the CellShock worked fine.

And there was GoriLLakoS. Reprogramed the CellShocks and all Bios-reset problems are gone. Now I can do as many BIOS resets I like without the need of the OCZs. I threw the OCZs out of the window (who was the lucky one ?)

The CellShock PC8000 4-4-4-12 are working fine with my old nForce4 board. The only minor problem is that from CPUz (version 1.38) I see that the ram is shown as PC6400, before the SPD programming was shown correct PC 8000. See image :

Thank you BOTH, Alonso and GoriLLakoS

CPUZ only shows EPP profiles in Timings Table - always a bit confusing to those who don´t know.

Modules always programmed conservatively to JEDEC (e.g. 800C5) values regarding compatibility. Thats afaik also why they show up as PC-6400

Ever tried Everest to check your modules and SPD information? There you will see the whole story

Yeap, Everest show different results Here is mine :

I wasn't worried about that, I know that my memory can do 1000 with 4-4-4-12 with 2.2V.

I am now using them underclocked at 720 Mhz (PC-5800) 3-3-3-6 with 2.2V (I have an Intel 805D CPU at the moment)
