    CPU-Z shows 1 core for E6600?

    Hello Everyone,

    I've been playing with my Asus P5B Deluxe Wi/Fi. I overclocked to 3.7 and it seemed to be stable. I was playing BF2142 for about 2 ours and all of a sudden my PC Probe alams go off. The CPU temp jumped to 85c. My alarm is set for 55c. I exited quickly, reset all BIOS 0804 setting to default and went back into window. Now both Speedfan and CPU-Z only see 1 core (see attached pic). The BIOS does see 2 Processors.

    Any ideas why Speedfan/CPU-Z/Orthos now only see 1 core?

    Anyone else ever see this?

    System:
    E6600
    Tuniq T120
    2-512mg, DDR28500

    I just figured this out. I also was installing MBM monitoring prior to the crash. Windows wouldn't boot due to that so I repaired windows and I'm now back to SP1. I think that CUPZ etc need updated SP2 or other windows components... Updating now to see.

    Check that...

    I'm now at SP2 etc. etc. Still only seeing 1 Core...

    Any Ideas?

    Another update...

    This is what 3DMark06 shows:

    Physical / Logical CPUs = 1 / 1

    MultiCore = 2 Processor Cores

    HyperThreading = Available Disabled

    This is what is showed when both cores were working:

    Physical / Logical CPUs = 1 / 2

    MultiCore = 2 Processor Cores

    HyperThreading = N/A
