RD600 first look and general questions

After waiting 6 months DFI bring us the first official RD600 based motherboard for Intels C2D CPU's.

Contributions from myself, bingo13, and Rgone during first beta testing of the board.

I posted some initial bios shots in the link below.

Preview review over at Anandtech by Gary Key here

The board has everything you need and more...Oskar could unlock drive strength also but there is no need he feels.

Just imagine an ultra D for Intel...thats what you have in bios

I saw one at the OCZ Overclocking summit fully working at 450fsb with a 6800 running 2GB of our ram at 1066 with no issues what so ever. i was unable to play with it due it being still ES sample though.

The guys tell me 500fsb is good to go though and the memory overclocking is stunning.

I will test as soon as i can, but I am under NDA, i can show pics but will have to ask DFI what and what can not be posted.

I wanted to show the board is real, reviewers will have them soon also as well as boards for retail...If there was any chance of a test tomorrow i would but I have a full day of meetings then a 20hr trip home

I will do my best to get more ASAP

No worries man, just good to hear thats it's finally seeing the light of day. Once more we will have a good board to test RAM on Incidentally when you do get to play can you comment on the heat of the NB, I've noticed that improved cooling on the intel chipsets had gained alot, will be interesting to see what happens to the ATi chip...

When your in the UK drop one off at my place...
Hope the results are at least on par with 975 in perf. and 'clocking ability.
I need a good board that i can settle down with. It's either this one or the Badaxe 2 so far.
    Good luck

zzf has it listed for $299 and has it listed at that price for months now.

i'm guessing it'll retail around the $300 mark until supply catches up to demand.

I, for one, am eager to hear more about this urban legend board.

I'll bet you all wish that Boeing had gone through with that Internet-in-airplanes plan now, huh? (Tony on 20-hour flight).
