New Core 2 Duo E6850 results

New Core 2 Duo E6850ES week39 tested by OverclockTR

    System:
    . Core 2 Duo E6850ES
    . ASUS P5W64WS-Pro Bios Rev305
    . Corsair 2x512MB 8500UL
    . Leadtek Xtreme 7600GT SLI
. Be Quite 600W SLI PSU
. Cpu cooling by single stage (evap:-40C )
. Cpu vcore: 1.55v from bios

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=9101913

Asus mobo not change cpu multiplier , normally cpu unlocked 6-20 from bios . Default multiplier 9 *333fsb (1333fsb) . 4.25ghz not max for this cpu , because 470-475fsb max for mobo..

It looks like moving the stock FSB to 333 is improving the maxium CPU frequenxy as well.

When was the e6850 and the 1333 FSB C2Ds foing to be released. I remember seeing this info recently but forgot the details.

    oh they're already out

nice going but if 4.2GHz was with single stage it isn't really all that special.....i mean B1 and B2 conroes ES CPUs will do that and more too

so what's the difference (other than the fsb) between these and the first batch of core2's?

intel needs to look into symetrical bus/processor speeds.

What do you mean by symetrical bus/processor speeds --- do you mean even multiples of 200?

I already though Intel used a symmetric bussing system, the memory access is uniform.

this way people wont confuse 1066 fsb with 1333fsb

No this is an Engineering Sample If I'm not to be mistaken these 1333Fsb conroes will be out in the 3rd quarter of 2007

Note: 4.2ghz isn't the max out of this cpu, this is the max of the mobo

    FSB490 on a 975X is really nice

BTW - I don`t see the point of this CPU. It seems to OC in MHz just as far as other Conroes, but it will have multi @ x9 , so basically:
    E6850 = factory clocked E6600 for extra $$$

what i meant was the processor core running at 3gigz lets say and the bus running at the same speed.

As for overclocking, unless intel changed the architecture or made some modification to the fab you probably wont see any overclocking increase due to just a bus change.

the fsb will be higher but you'll still hit the same clocks.

These core2 duo cpus will be out in the 3rd quarter 2007. The motherboards are having a difficult time recognizing these cpus and with their release I think intel will be releasing a new chipset for them

When Mercedes brought their C111 to Talledega years ago and blew away the closed course record did it count? Yes..
That was a "factory" car and a "one of" that no one could buy and was never sold.
Records are records and that is a fact so get over it.

Why 3rd quarter 2007 any 975x or 965 mobo can run that thing fine with only BIOS
By that time they should be preparing the 45nm parts

that is very nice chip there, stepping 9 are same as stepping 7 in oc, 4.2ghz under ss is not so bad, but not so good as well.
