    DDR2: 600MHz club (2GB+Spi 1M or better)

Post here! Voltages, timings, ICs, RAM company etc.

Will try to keep a league of entrants... Spi 1M stability MINIMUM, guys/gals with Spi 8M, 32M etc screenshots will be placed higher up 2GB kits ONLY

Intel 965/975X only, sorry no RD600 or nv 6-series chipsets

-> The longer the bench the better...the tighter the timings the better

DISCLAIMER: THESE RESULTS ARE ALL FROM EXPERIENCED OVERCLOCKERS, GENERALLY WITH TOP-BINNED OR HAND PICKED RAM, AND SEVERAL BIOS TWEAKS. PLEASE DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY ASSUME THAT ALL SETS OF SIMILARLY SPECCED RAM ARE CAPABLE OF THE SAME. THANKYOU.

Thanks Rol-Co, I might have made it too easy...might need to up the entry requirements if too many ppl manage it

A quick 600MHz with too many volts and craptastic times above, just so I can say I did it. I`m working on something slightly nicer at the mo

    600MHz, Spi 1M, 2.5V, 5-5-5, 2GB TX OPB/K404 Ed. Asus P5B DH

i have a feeling this club is gonna be pretty big. i've yet to touch a set that can't do 600mhz stable...

    team 2x512mb ddr2-667
    602mhz @ 4-4-3, 2.65v
    602mhz @ 5-5-4, 2.2v

    team 2x512mb ddr2-800
    606mhz @ 5-5-4, 2.13v

    team 2x1gb ddr2-800
    610mhz @ 5-5-4, 2.29v

    crucial ballistix 2x1gb ddr2-800
    599.6mhz ( ) @ 4-4-3, 2.75v

i'd go a lot higher at 5-5-4 with more volts, but i'm cpu limited for stability

yeah, am2 does seem to clock a bit better than intel's chipsets do..

and my IMC can't get much over 460mhz at 1T, no matter what timings, voltage or number of sticks

A bit better? AM2 clocks wayyy better imo.

As for 2t, dont feel bad about that, all intel chipsets are locked at 2t.

i think it really comes down to a large variation in how intel based mobos are set up, and what appears to be less strict requirements for IMC "performance", my experience with overclocking ram on the 955x chipset is definitely subpar, two different kits hitting the same 533mhz limit. gonna try to get my hands on a decent conroe-compatible board eventually and see if i can't get near what AM2 is pulling off

in other words, hit or miss
