    I'm gonna bet it'll be more like mid-Nov to early Dec to when we get availablilty in stores. However, if the mobo turns out as good as everyone wants it to then I guess it will be worth the wait

    Lightbulb

    ---------> !!!

    Let's say I'm not really unhappy with the ASUS board, but I miss the very good DFI BIOS and of course the RD600 chipset.

    My hopes are hi on this board so plz DFI take care and keep on doing well !!!

    To run RAM totally independent from CPU (FSB) speed is the greatest innovation since BH-5 had been coming to the market......

    It would be easier to overclock, being able to run independently means we can clock our memory as fast as it can go, and then our cpu as fast as that can go.

    Hopefully we will be able to do this with better control over the chipset latencies.

    Thank you...

    I thought that memory running faster wasn't beneficial? Ex, 939, Ram running at 250mhz and cpu running at 200fsb.

    Now since it is seperate this no longer is valid? Correct?

    AMD memory controller is very different. AMD memory performance also depends on CPU clocks, thus a 3.0ghz cpu has more bandwidth then a 2.0ghz one. The cpu was the limiting factor at 2.0ghz, thus 250 didnt help, but at 3.0ghz, the 250 setting becomes much more effective.

    Not to mention we are talking about intel, very different systems. On intel systems running higher then 1:1 can give really good performance gains.
