Arrow XS PSU Deal Of The Month: October 2006 !!!

With the $67 High Component APFC PSU chosen last month as the psu of the month, topping it will require a PSU that excels, yet again, in all areas including stability, power and price point.

With that in mind...allow me to introduce to you:

    CORSAIR 520HX 520W SILENT/MODULAR POWER SUPPLY

    http://www.atacom.com/program/print_...52&USER_ID=www

Yes you heard right...not only is the PSU modular, incredibly efficient (80%++), it is also a very quiet PSU. But what of the 500W Seasonics and Libertys before it ? Are they not of the same caliber ? What makes this psu so special ??...

Maybe its the fact that it costs $116 and supplies a MONSTROUS 480W to the 12V Rails ALONE !!! (Of which it has 3 btw )

That's more power than SOME HIGH QUALITY 600W PSUs !!!!

In an age when the last truely underrated power supply were the OCZ Powerstreams, the Corsair 520HX offers hope to the SLI/Crossfire OCer that minds his/her budget by offering a combined 620 Watts for the 3.3v/5V/12V Rails

... cheapest price in Australia is like $A231, and then you need another ~$10-$15 on top for postage. 241 Australian Dollar = 179.926 US Dollar. Stop whining kuhla :p

I ordered one of these up for an office PC I'm building for myself and the thing is drop dead sexy. I'm thinking of trading out the Seasonic S12 600W in my home PC for this one (I like the modular - even tho the cables are kinda weak). What do you think - good move? My two requirements are to have ample (stable) power for the rig in my sig - and to be as quiet as possible. I'll go look at specs, but was hoping someone had used both PSU's and could comment.

The Enermax 500W liberty runs away like a lame dog compared to the 520HX.

    Hope that answers your question.

Just picked one of these up, and it's fantastic. Cables are pretty nice too, and not have the EZ-grip connectors on it also. And it is VERY VERY quiet.

I have the HX620, and it is a monster. I assume this is just 100w less. Great PSU, highly reccommended!

Mine is pretty quiet, but I do have some buzzing going on. It was described in a another thread as sounding like crickets chirping, but to me is sound like a clicking. It's not really loud, but is noticeable compared to the Seasonic S12 it replaced. Not sure if I should RMA it - the other poster said that the replacement he got did the exact same thing.

    Thumbs up

The Corsair 620W has earned a place in my heart & systems,
it has become my favorite PSU & its little brother here is also an excellent PSU!

I have both & throughly recommend both!

Google & Froogle have them from $105!
