    Max vcore E6600 watercooled?

I can go to 395x9 on 1.55 vcore but I don't have the guts to up my vcore any higher since I read somewhere that Intel specified 1.55 as maximum allowed vcore or something like that. If I want my CPU to last for at least a year, can I up the vcore any higher?

Intels max. specified is 1.35V :P.

    Go for 1.65V.

For a short while, it shouldnt be a problem, if your temps are fine.

mine is at 1.490 just fine, temps are pretty sweet, under 50/40*C on load (core temp and gigabyte probe respectively)

    Maximum: 1.3625V
    FSB Termination Voltage: 1.14V - 1.26V

The absolute values fall outside the range of normal operation and will result in damage/degredation of the processor over time.

    Absolute Minimum: -0.3V
    Absolute Maximum: 1.55V
FSB Termination Voltage: -0.3V to 1.55V
    Processor: Q6700 L727B116

    1.65V = 32.7C @ 399x9 after 1 hour of SP2004 Orthos Edition.
Maybe I could up it all the way to 1.7V?

EDIT: Oh I forgot to tell you that 32.7C is not the core temperature but what the WC kit is reporting.

I'm running 1.65v 24/7, more when I get water. No one has killed a conroe yet so I'm not worrying. If it dies oh well.

damn you guys need alot of volts

    3.6ghz 400x9 = 1.34v
    3.7ghz 412x9 = 1.44v

you guys you ran to your nearest online store and got conroes right when they were released got screwed id be selling them and getting the latest week chips. they dont need so much volts.

and 1.6-1.7v even on water is just insanely hot and you best watch your arse.. i guarentee unless you have a very air conditioned room that is VERY cool even with water your gunna be riding 65+c too hot even for water.

ya know some of us actually work and pay for their own hardware.
"oh well" is not an option for those of us that fall into that catagory.

For some people. Others go through hardware like water.

Oh and BTW my conroe dual loads cool @ 1.65v. All temp software is wrong.

I run 1.65v on air 24-7, so I would run it on water too

Buy a retail box if you actually believe that voltage will hurt your cpu, and then you can say "oh well" like us

I cant keep a cpu for a week, let alone three years! LOL!

Wow my friend, again you add worthless to a thread with a question. I know for a ing fact that AFI pays for his goddamn hardware. I work to get everything I own, but I'm starting to lose trust in purchasing as it seems I've been a beta tester for the last 3 builds. So please shut your damn mouth and stay out of threads with your . I know alot of people you've pissed off with your bull ramblings.

    BACK ON TOPIC

Nobody should have a fear of voltage. If it takes 1.7v aircooled to get the speed you desire, then so be it. I recommend this philosophy to all

If it doesn't smoke, it isn't broke.

Considering retail Allendale's/Conroe's have only been out for a month or two I'm not sure your advice is prudent here. Nobody is sure of the long term effects of running over 1.55V through these chips. Say, running that much through them for 6+ months.

The exact same thing was said with A64 and yonah, 1.55-1.65 is fine assuming temps are kept in check...

Reminds me of when people where pumping 1.9 volts into northwoods. Its your chip and if you feel good about it then do it. But i probably wouldnt go higher than 1.45 on air and 1.55 on water. I dont mind seeing others throwing the volts out right now though, we do still need to find out the point of no return.

I wish i had more than a piddly 1.6v available. These things scale fabulously with volts.
