Exclamation Counter-Strike: Source running natively in Mac OS X

The latest beta release of CrossOver Mac finally fulfilled my dreams of running CS 1.6, HL2, and CS:S natively in Mac OS X. Check out the vid for the proof! This was done on my 17" MacBook Pro just FYI.

THIS VID HIT FRONT PAGE ON DIGG, THANKS FOR ALL OF THE SUPPORT ALL!

    PLEASE DIGG IT!

It's an application that allows Windows programs to run natively in Mac OS X on Intel based Mac's.

It currently works best with DX 7 & 8 but I haven't had any problems running with DX9 yet, so until I do run in to problems I'm going to run with DX9.

I was extatic... I don't think people really understand exactly how awesome this is. Because the biggest excuse to I hear day in and day out about how "gay" a Mac is, is because it doesn't support 90% of all software (which really isn't true, there's a clone of just about everything for Windows on a Mac). So now, those people can all stfu

Hey Frag I noticed while running in Windowed mode if you are crotched you cannot shoot. I haven't tried rebinding the keys yet but I am sure that is a simple fix...It thinks you are trying to right click in game when you hold Ctrl naturely.

I was running Day of Defeat and it worked great even on my MacBook. Windowed mode does seem to work better than FullScreen thus so far. But they are getting there with it that is for sure.

Not really native, your still running it in a emulator. That's all crossover is basically, just a artificial API.

In a way, yes. Because CrossOver actually allows the software to work with the hardware. The emulation really is only for the Windows codebase to work on Mac OS X, but the other aspects of the software functioning so well are that it's able to actually utilize the physical hardware in your machine.

It's more native than it is emulated.

Well I am poor and don't pay for stuff generally...I usually look for other means of getting it.

But if I did I would pay for it.

So did you steal that 2 thousand dollar laptop? Just odd for a Mac Book pro owner to claim poverty when it comes to a $40 piece of software.

Who said I have a MacBook Pro? Does it say that anywhere? And who said I paid for this "MacBook". And I have never ever paid for any piece of software in my life.

And I feel pitty for those who "pay" for Vista at such a high price for such a piece of crap.

    Dito!

    Looks good, doesn't it?

Even though I prefer playing games via bootcamp - but for a quick CS round without restarting, CrossOver fits perfectly!
