Agree with you...really sux this thing ...except for the quicker booting notthing changed in this bios...even the P5B have the option to change the multi...in the second BIOS released...and this board for 200€+ not... I think will go for an P5B Deluxe or sth else...

BIOS 1001, 1101, 1201 and 1301 are all the same BIOS

I have not seen any differences between any of them

I had the 0701 than upgraded to 0903...1101 the difference between the 0701 and the others was ausome...in booting speed But It seems to me that the 1301 is a bit quicker...but I could be wrong . I have some thoughts to get rid of this MOBO and get an Asus P5WDG2 WS Professional instead...

Do you seriously think that the MB is holding you back ?
I ve bought this MB , flashed from 0401 to 0903 and been running it ever since
If you ve got at least 6400 DDR2 , there s no need for any dividers to run 400*9

...you are wright but...if I cannot do 400*9 ...cause the temps are too high even with high end water cooling?

right, ok, I found the ONE difference in this bios from 1201 and 1101

Now, the "Start OC-Utility" actually works, before it would just go to a blue screen.

    great!... not

I run 405x8 and the memory has to be run at 810.

It would be nice to be able to run my memory at close to its rated speed of 1066 instead but no matter what I do with the memory timings that just wont work at 405fsb.

The whole spd timings thing really annoys me...

That's probably the most annoying thing about this motherboard tbh

Ya, SPD doesn't even affect me. My conroe doesn't even let me get my FSB high enough for me to have to use SPD to post.

Primoz, your WC setup looks great ! I know Laing pumps, I got the OASE now, got the 710 model, but now I ve ordered the 910 , which is much more powerful and still very quiet...

Did you put any fans towards the NB and to the power circuits ABOVE the CPU socket ?

Well I came from a DS3 to this and for a retail E6600, it's no better or worse than this. I love the ICH7 RAID controller on this board compared to the JMicron crap on the DS3 (and I guess this board as well.)

I hate to whine, but it's rediculous how the P5B Deluxe gets bios updates with tons of fixes and the P5W DH Deluxe which cost $260 and is the premium board gets nothing. I am seriously considering a different mobo if asus doesn't get there act together.

I agree on the RAM, which is capable of more.. but on the MB , doubt it...
What makes you think it s not the CPU?

I had famous 165Opty 0608MPMW and it could not reach 2950 100% stable ... etc etc

why? the doesnt the CPU have anything to do with how the mobo uses dividers to get my ram past the DDR1000 mark?

the CPU isnt at question here? its the motherboard dividers!
