Regulating fan speed on P5B Deluxe?

Hey anyone got Speedfan working with a P5B Deluxe. I can see the actual fan speeds but there's no way to set the percentage, these things are just missing. Anyone got a solution?

Disable Q-Fan stuff in the BIOS.

Still doesn't work. Speedfan doesn't show anything to change.

ughh... i dunno how many times ive said this
fan speeds can only be controlled if 1) it has a 4 pin connector to the mobo or 2) u have a fan controller

Does SPeedfan detect your CPU temps ? It doesn't on My P5B

There is no way the current SpeedFan can detect sensor chip in the P5B Deluxe,
since its using the latest one Winbond W83627DHG, not the common W83627EHG.

This latest Winbond W83627DHG chip was released just recently at Q1 or Q2 2006 !

Heck, even Winbond still doesn't want to release the spec or datasheet easily !

Just wait a little longer, rumours around that it has some hidden "surprises" ..err.. I mean features !

Hmm, interesting. Speedfan's lack of support for the P5B is a major reason I am resisting buying this motherboard, since fan control and quiet computing generally are important to me.

I don't suppose you've heard any 'rumours' about when the new sensor chip might be supported and what level of control Speedfan will have for the P5B: (1) both CPU and chipset temperature readings? (2) all fans connected to motherboard speed monitored and speed controlled via PWM?

Unless support comes soon I will probably just go with the P5WDH and sacrifice (probably) on the o/c side. I am very curious about these surprises in store that you mention -- I take it from your eliptical remarks that the hidden 'features' will be positive (e.g. more control)?
