    it will be a 7900GTX for less then 300 dollars with HDCP.
    For the people that care about HDCP and gaming ti will be a good card.
    it wont be FPS king but will be bang per buck card.

    ya cant expect Nvidia to make an entire refresh so close to G80.
    it will however not only mean the discontinuation of the 7900GT but i bet also the 7900GTX.

    btw last time Nvidia didnt make a real refresh it was a good move.
    as when ATI made a X850Xt they for a while had problems delivering botht he x850xt and x800xt.
    Nvidia didnt make a refresh and instead made good improvements on deliverys on their 6800GT.

    this will basicly be the same:
    ATI makes a refresh with higher speeds (how wel the supply goes is unknown it can go both ways)
    and Nvidia simply kills both the 7900GT and 7900GTX and replaces it with 1 new card.

    2 new cards actually... The 7900GS will be the 3rd card in their high-to-mid-end line up

    Aren't the clocks closer to a 7900GT...?

    7900GT = 450 / 1320 (100MHz difference / 80MHz difference)
    7950GT = 550 / 1400
    7900GTX = 650 / 1600 (100MHz difference / 200MHz difference)

    this will last me a good 2 years im hoping, eventhough I doubt that really seriously

    I still run a all in wonder X800XT and a X850XT PE in the other 2 rigs..

    x1900xts sell for roughly $300, after $100 rebates that take a long time to go through. IMO, the 7950 GT is a DAMN good deal...

    X1900XT > nividia?
    Funniest thing I've heard in a while since GX2's can be found for as cheap as $470.

    Also SLi is far better than Crossfire.

    Although I agree that right now Crossfire is not as good as SLi.
    On a Card per Card basis, ATi beats nVidia
    At the same time soon ATi is going to get a kick in the ass course in how to scale processing from AMD. Who right now is the absolute best at that.

    You mean going from 2.4ghz to 3.0ghz in 2 years?

    Just amazing, they can scale so well. a whole 600mhz.

    Im not really going ot make a commment past this one, but amd let off the gas as soon as it had something that could beat intel, and they still aren't back on the pedal. (although K8's archetecture is still brilliant imo. )

    Anyways, i agree with what you said for the most part, multi gpu goes to nvidia and single to ATi.

    I mean multiprocessor scaling silly Being able to go from a 1P to an 8P system with the Exact same processor with a scalling performance loss smaller than ANYthing else on Earth

    If the picture is of the actual card it seems like the design hasn't changed, so will we see the same issues on this as the 7900gt series?

    Maybe the 512MB requires for a different vmemregulator, hopefully they have adressed the problem....

    ..anything that has a 79** name is a no-go for me at least.

    Will not beat the X1900XT 512MB at the same price (~$300).

    Not to mention GDDR4 > GDDR3. Higher clocked 79xx didn't go over too well before...perhaps this might make a difference, who knows.

    I find it funny how they assume a 7600GT will beat the X1950PRO...it can't hold a candle to it.

    should be worst than this

    Geforce 7900GT KO 512MB 560/1500 300$ and can do 650/1600 with no vmod
    the only thing that matter is type of DDR3 for overclocking
    bottom line not a big deal

    Read above, it's already been stated that a x1900xt can be had for $300 and it outperforms a 7900gtx so I'm pretty sure it will outperform a 7950gt.

    Why we see the X1950XT why not the X1950XTX?
    And is the R580+ 80nm?

    X1950XT probably will cost ~300$ so it will rip up the 7950GT
