might save this spot for some undervolting heh
man wish i had a step 5. I have everythign exactly the same as you except i have retail step 6 and 430fsb is my limit.
why do you wish you had step 5
do you think step5 will give you higher FSB.........i'd say you're mobo limited rather than CPU.............i mean they are great CPUs and all but your issue is mobo i reckon with limited FSB
i've got the same DS3 as everyone else. Luck of the draw? I wonder if i should try a second board DS3.......
i'm on my second one
but i recall reading you had the same great results with both right?Originally Posted by dinos22

no, the retails aren't as good as the stepping 5's. Most of them are crapping out around 3.4 ghz or thereabouts (requiring 1.5 volts plus)
Intel i7 2600K @4.??, Asus P67 Pro Mobo
noctua nd-d14 - Cooler Master HAF 932
Geforce GTX470 - 16GB Ram G.Skill RIPJAWS
128GB Crucial Solid state drive, and a few 2TB drives
60 inch samsung LCD LN60C630
---
Lenovo t60p - Core 2 duo T7200
2GB RAM - 120GB hard drive
ATI x1400 - fingerprint reader, NMB keyboard, etc.
kickin a$$ and taking names baby.
i'd love to see any other 965/975 board do that unmodded.
bad axe is the only one i can think of.. maybe..

Rock On, dinos! Lots of screens and lots of 32M... Great results so far, including 2GBHZ @ DDR-1052 12-4-4-4.0, 2.3v
Can you do me a big a$$ favor... Once you're done finding max for your mems, would you compare for me 32M @ 400x7 1:1 (DDR-800 12-4-4-4.0) vs 400x7 4:5 (DDR-1066 12-4-4-4.0), plizzzz

you basically want to see how the RATIO 2.0 and 2.5 compare right? I'll drop it down to 380 or so until i figure out what i can't repeat results with 2.3v.........
the only one i've seen with goods so far and more is Biostar 965 boardOriginally Posted by Lestat

Damn dinos, can I fly down there for training?
I can't get the damn board to post past 390... Once booted I can Setfsb to 'bout 460 but that the end of the party... Nice work!
Darn impressive.
Damn . nice i need my overclocking LESSONS !! lol well i hope we all with conroe+DS3 can overclock to that setting =[ lol
Man, those are just some fantastic results!![]()
I like the HZ's at DDR2-1000 w/2.2v as well
BTW, did the HZ's boot on that board OK with 1.8v?
