    Some Sapphire X1800GTO2 512mb Results

Well for anyone that is interested in them i just got mine after giving up on 7900gt (mine's been on rma forever, i bearly used it )

Looks the same as all x1800xt with 6 phase power and it's actualy just the gto2 sticker stuck over Ruby sticker as on the x1800xt's

I flashed it to the 625/750 x1800xt bios without problems, but ram seems to be cappning out around there, with stock fan at 100% it can pass 3d05 at around 700core and 750 mem, at 1.4v for the chip. It seems like it has some more mhz left in it at that voltage but my room is really hot and im running a pentium D 805 at 3.7ghz so i think it is the temperature that is limiting me.

all in all im happy, cheeper than the 7900gt and runs oblivion better and thats the only thing im playing when i have time

Eva has shown repeatedly that running a higher core voltage will allow more for your memory (even if you don't increase core clocks). That might be worth a shot if you want higher mem clocks.

    BTW, great deal you got.

It's only $255 on Newegg, is it worth getting this over a X1900XT and saving 100 bucks?

Ya i flashed xt-pe bios last night with higher voltage and it almost worked at 700/800mhz tried with both auto fan and fixed at 100%. at 100% almost got through 3d05 so pretty sure temp is holding me back. I settled for some playing at 700 core 750 mem at 1.4v and fan at 65% played for a while oblivion without problems.

Problem is in my country there are no better vga coolers for same so im stuck with this stock one since only other i got is zalman vf700 Alcu witch i dont think would cut it

and this card is deffenatly worth it for anyone that isnt happy with 7900gt or was thinking about getting x1800xt

It's not worth getting over a X1900GT if you're benching.

X1900GTs are hitting 12k in 05 with little difficulty.

Those temps aren't too bad, but your voltage regulators are working overtime. And yes, don't waste your time with the vf700, not worth it at all.

so the vreg temp is to high compared to the rest, this is idle with fan running at 20 ish %

what are the usual vreg temps compared to the core or the ambient on the x1800xt

Well you should boost that fanspeed. I am not saying yours is higher than normal, I am saying you shouldn't let it get that hot

well as5 didnt do much, but i see the hsf is hurting for lapping to flaten it, but i did put a little 70mm fan to blow onto the vreg and it droped their temp by 10c now they are at 54c, but like i said its just to hot here now my room is probably 30c and i got to keep the door closed cause of my kid

I see you already tried the PE BIOS.

With that BIOS everyone was able to reach 700MHz. But 700MHz on the core at 1.40v is pretty impressive actually.

u actualy don't have to mod it at all, u can just overclock it to XT speeds, it already has all 16 pipelines open

I didnt OC at all or use it at PE voltages cause of the heat, i figured the core aint bad, but my mem is kinda low at 1.4 max oc is actualy somwhere around 710*760 but i keep it ar 700*750 just for stability in games

I might get ahold of a accelero in couple weeks i know it ain't great but it might be the only thing i can get ahold of, lol im even looking at a stock intel hsf that i have here, but no tools to adapt it lol

Are there more gto2 owners now?
Their experiences would be greatly appreciated.
