Nice. I had a 93 R1 as well. Vintage Red.
Hopefully I'll get another one in the near future.

Errr. Correct me if I'm mistaken but a V8 isn't exactly going to "drop" into the engine bay of a rotary.

Actually GMs LS engines fit like it was meant to be there
i believe that ls1 fd is owned by luke lonberger who i believe can be found roaming here http://www.torquecentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=11

But it´s crap to exchange a rotary engine with a v8... rotary is much more exclusive

I think the LS swap is kinda cool. It doesn't screw around w/ the balance of the car or anything. Cool, if you're into the LS engine.
I wouldn't do it though. I like rotaries and it's the heart of the RX-7.

Just saw the first pics of an LS7 -> RX7 swap...for those that don't know, that's the engine in the new Z06, doing 500hp N/A. Quite an upgrade from the little rotary.

I owned a 2nd gen '86 RX-7, I loved it. I could cruise at 90+ mph and I would have to look at the speedometer to know I was going over 60mph it was so smooooth. At least it was great till it broke down, lol. I would love to own a 3rd gen RX-7.
