does it get any more ghetto than this?

this is my first attempt @ making a "tube".

i was just doing some testing @ work today.... and then figured WTF lets make this one real.

i have parts on order from onlinemetals, so my next one shouldn't be quite so bad, i just used the parts i had on-hand.
(Base is 9.2mm thick and the bars/plates are 1/4")

working with a TUBE should be CAKE compared to this

    let the begin

my theory of sticking welding rod (cut into 1/2" pieces) into a puddle of molten alu for base "pins" turned into a REAL desaster... so i did what i could

yep, that is still the raw base.

although this is NOT the base of the above "tube", its an example of my lapping:

    EDIT:

and here is the TUBE's base in its current "semi lapped" state:

    The Camel Pipe
    *- Just SMOKE It! -*

not perfect... going to have to crush up the pellets to fit around the center post

    other than that im happy

basics: 9.2mm thick base plate, 2" OD Pipe; 1/4" thick walls
base design: 1/4" OD rod 2.5" tall and dimples drilled around it leaving a little less than 1/4" material @ the center of the dimple

I have never used a fluke probe, but it seems that you have selected "type T" for the probe, and it seems to me that you are using a normal probe type K. I dont know if I am saying something without sense, because I dont have a fluke, but if I am right, it could be because of that you are getting some strange readings...
BTW, nice tube and nice 2700 too...

    .

Aopen can go below zero temps with the 1.3C BIOS

i think its @ LN2 or cascade temps where the 1.3C stops working and the T-core mod is needed.

    ---

ill look into the probe type, i did do an Ice-bath test and it was .4C too low

    i name her.... Stock Class

no real results tonight since she's drying out (over night) due to a minor screw-up in insulation....

guess i should have checked more careful the amount of card that plugs into the PCIE socket

warming up and drying off... once you kill the power, the whole friggn card turns to water....

    V-DMM volt-mod on 2nd card:

this rig is setup specifically for OCF's nVid 7600 OC contest, so im only benching '05 and only with this Forsa 7600 (stock clocked @ 400/400) ... the #'s arnt real pretty

after the contest, ill try to get some "real" #'s together (and a few new tubes for my X1900 CrossFire setup)
