OCZ PC4000 EB Platinum.....Initial Testing

I'm thinking the manufacturer knows these are hot and is going to jack the price way up especially right before xmas. I bet they suddenly show up 3 weeks before then. I hope I can still get them around the end of January for a resonable price.

Unfortunately, I have to have something in my hands by the 23rd of November. I understand your point but if other memory vendors can provide stock then I don't see how we can give OCZ a pass. My first preference would be OCZ but since I can't buy them I have to go to the competition. Thing is, OCZ seems to have plenty of these on hand for RMA purposes (from the sense I'm getting with people being able to get quick RMAs for their sticks) which makes me question why those aren't in the channel?

If you have to have something....no one is going to look down on you for that, you have to do what you have to do and so do we. It seems you think we like this type of thing....believe me WE DON'T!!

In regards to having RMA stock not being in the channel....wouldn't you be just a little peeved if you did get some that didn't work, then got told you couldn't get a replacement so now you had none?

well i for one really appreciate all the work you guys do, i just wish my memory was overclockable
it's just a shame that all the other companies wait for you lot to do the work for them
you should laser the markings off the chips or something, that would at least slow them down a bit

What I'm not understanding is how there can be no ETA on this stuff. You guys have to have a ballpark on when these sticks will be available in the channel again?

There are things that happened here that were even beyond OCZ's control so please cut them some slack. Like Dean mentioned earlier it's other companies hopping onto the bandwagon and hoarding the IC's that OCZ discovered and speed binned. OCZ will have more supplies in shortly.

Our competitors might still have intial stock left from their first run's, but IC's are on limited production runs right now from the Manuf. and very little is getting out into our purchasing channel's.
You guys bought up everything we had from the first run (Thanks ) but it has led to this situation now

We are doing everything we can to get modules made ASAP.

ya, back when i RMA'd my EB sticks a few weeks ago there was a few day delay due to OCZ doing some inventory due to low #'s. Jimmy from OCZ said i got one of the last ones they were able to scrounge up. I feel lucky! Honestly, the Mushkin sticks are the exact same thing but after the quick service here from OCZ, i will stick with em whenever i can. Cheers to OCZ for a very nice product...

Thanks for that. I just wanted an explanation as to what's going on and why no ETA anywhere and some sort of timetable. I was just really frustrated. Too bad I'll have to go with the competition with my situation being what it is, but as always, in the future I'll be looking to OCZ first as your products are beyond reproach and my first choice.

Well im doing more testing on my Ram now I have it set at 285 HTT 5:6 Divider HT X3 @ 2.7v it's SP 2004 stable for 2 hours now, Oh Yea I upped the volts to my CPU to 1.53 V trying for a gaming stable Overclock at this speed, I had it at 275 HTT 9:10 Divider HT X4 and runs all day at thoses settings. I finally got it too post at 294 HTT but its not gaming stable, But it sure looked good LOL. Im new at this Overclocking on these AND 64's but it sure fun playing around trying new things. This Ram seems too game real good for me too, My Ballisticks 2x1 Gig died after 4 days so I hope this hangs on for a while I had had it over a Month now and still running strong.
