    On the antec 300, the six lower bays can only receive hard disks,so the remain 3 bay are modular, it's why they call it 300 because of these 3 modular bays.

    300 -> 3 modular bays.
    900 -> 9 modular bays.
    1200 -> 12 modular bays.

    Yes ,I agree , the Antec 300 ,have only the top three 5,25 drive bays, the lower six 3,5 drive bays are exclusive only to 3,5 size hard drive , this CM590 is in my opinion much Much better than the Antec 900 because dont have the ugly tilted roof of the 900,the lack of cable management of the 900 , the ugly side panel (ugly mix of mesh and acrilic ) of the 900 , and the lack of holes under the PSU of the 900 (to allow the PSU to intake external fresh air )

    In the photo below A owner took the idea of the CoolerMaster CM690 to mod his own Antec 900 with a mod hole under the PSU

    How long has the 690 been around? First Antec 900 I saw with a hole for the PSU to flip and breathe though the bottom was over 1 year ago. This is a nice cheap case though. But I do think the 690 looks better than this one.

    very new, like early autumn 07. not sure what you mean about the Antec 900, stock it does not have a hole underneath, but modded yes I've seen pics of someone cutting a hole underneath eons ago.

    I hate the fan grilling on the CM690, and the CM590 is using the same rubbish.

    Well i didn't take the idea of the CM 690. I wanted to have the cables closer to the motherboard tray of my 900. The only way to do that was to flip the PSU and the PSU needed to have space for the fan to pull in air.

    Here is the work log for that mod.

    Now i like how the 590 has the same basic design for the drive bays as the 900 while overcoming the short falls of the 900. The lack of a plastic top is nice though i don't like the front panel being in one of the 5.25" bays. Now if it where interchangeable with any of the 5.25" bays that would be great. Adding more flexibility in the modding possibilities of the case. Overall it looks like a good case with allot of modding potential.

    I would have liked some sort of airfilter for it, lite the CM Cosmos have maybe, which is easy to remove and clean, sucking the dust from the floor directly into the PSU looks like a bad idea.

    Is it possible to mount wheels on the CM 590?
