I would memtest the ram for at least 6 to 8 hours to totally put ram out of the equation as being the problem.
I would memtest the ram for at least 6 to 8 hours to totally put ram out of the equation as being the problem.
I've had problems with my rampage and DDR2 800 Ballistix also. I RMA'd both RAM and MB. Replacement MB should be here Tomorrow, so I'll know then if that fixed the problem. If not, I'm sure it is a compatability issue with the RAM and I'll have to get some new stuff.

I know this, the manual states that
"This motherboard does not support memory modules made up of 128mb chips." - page 2-17 in the english language manual pdf on the Asus website.
and the single side crucial modules is in fact 8x128mb but I talked to OCZ because the ram I’m getting next week is 2x2gb OCZ Reaper pc8500 and they are properly 16x128mb modules.
They said it isn't a problem as long the ram is tweaked correctly with the DRAM CLOCK SKEW.
See link for OCZ guide
http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=37480
I've tried tweaking the skew as in this guide but then memtest just lock up without finding errors but I was able to do the 4-5 hours run with SKEW A delay 300ps and SKEW B advance 150PS.
See my OCZ thread here
http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...969#post277969
But it's near impossible to get memory modules with the 16x64mb configuration these days
People running 2x2gb or 4x2gb modules in this motherboard have you had any stability problems or was it a cake walk to configure?
Edit
Im looking forward to hear your findings Rickpatbrown

Hey guys,
Just wondering what kind of NB temps you are getting on this board. I recently took the stock HS off the board and installed an Enzotech SL1 on the SB and an HR05/SLI/IFX on the north bridge. My SB temps went down 10C but my NB temps seem to have stayed about the same. The NB idles at 47C and Load 55C. I was trying to get this thing running where the NB would never get hotter then 50C.
I am using MX-2 on both chipsets, my question is for anyone that us using the HR-05 on you NB what kind of temps do you get with a 80mm fan mounted on it and how much thermal paste did you use? I did the old pea size dot in the center with the squish and twist technique. I thinking maybe I did not get enough MX-2 where it counts, possibly I need to do the line technique. I have read alot of comments from guys that have this heatsink and all of them boast about low temps, so idk
Any Info would be appreciated!
Thanks, Filthy
